Day 23

Bench
10 x 60kg
10 x 70kg
5 x 80kg
5 x 90kg
3 x 100kg
2 x 110kg
2 x 120kg
1 x 130kg
2 x 2 - 140kg

CG Bench
2 x 2 - 130kg

Incline Bench
2 x 8 - 70kg

Wide Grip Pull Ups
2 x 12

Tricep Rope Pull Downs
3 x 10 - 30kg

DB Hammer
3 x 10 - 18kg

Weighted side bends
3 x 20 - 25kg

Treadmill Walk - 5kph - 11 degree incline - 10 minutes

Video shows the first double at 140kg and the second one was actually better.  Decided to go with no spotter as there was nobody in there I liked the look of.  I figured I'd rather get squashed than have someone steal my rep from me.

I've had a sore neck for the last few days.  This morning I woke up and that had gone only to be replaced with pinpoint pain in my left trap and shoulder.  Also a tense right forearm and numb first finger on my right hand.  I'm hoping my body can just about hold it together to get through the max tests.  I'm trying to book a massage in at work for tomorrow.

Back pumps were a little more prominent today at the end of the work out and my last two nights sleep has been pretty poor.  Slight sides starting to show up I'd say.  Nothing I can't handle at this point though.

What is your max test going to be?

Thanks chaps, seems to be going pretty well do far!

Day 24

Died......a freind was killed in Thailand a few weeks back.  It was his wake on Wednesday night and I drank far too much.  Not big and not clever.  I felt like **** all of yesterday.

Day 25

Squat Max Test

2 x 5 - 70kg
5 x 110kg
5 x 150kg
3 x 190kg
Wraps On
1 x 220kg
1 x 240kg
1 x 245kg  - New PB + 10kg

Really pleased with how today went.  I was going to be happy with 240kg but seeing as that moved so well I decided to go for 245kg.  Watching the video back I wish I'd have tried 250kg after.  I may consider another go at it next week depending on how I feel.  I must admit I'm totally wiped out now and I think I'm going to take myself for a little nap.  Overhead Press max tomorrow.

Not been active here but been following along in the shadows. I'm glad this cycle has been good for you, much much better than it was for me!

Hella strong buddy and some wicked lifts in the end of this seriously impressive.

Cheers bud, it's not even over yet so hopefully there's more to come.  I'm looking forward to pushing the Overhead tomorrow.  That PB hasn't been broken in two years!!  It needs to fall.

3 x 10 - 35kg

Weighted Crunches / Romanian Twists
3 x 15 - 10kg / 3 x 30 - 15kg

Sooooooo pleased with that overhead press.  That's been evading me for far too long now.  I thought it moved really well so tried my luck at 122.5kg.  It was really close on the first try and hung at the sticking point for a good few seconds.  I really thought I'd get it but the 2nd and 3rd try I was spent.  I might have another go at it next week or the week after.

Do you train in a david lloyds? I use those same ****ty plates!

Strong press mate, what's the idea for yourself behind the push press as opposed to a strict press? I usually keep my OHP strict but have toyed with the idea of doing push press after strict or switching to push if it yeilds more power and better carry over?

Day 27

Rest

Monster - I do push press purely because I enjoy it.  I strict press up to a certain weight but then switch to push press to add more weight to the bar.  I'm sure there's science type reasons for doing one over the other.  In fact I think Jim Wendler actually recommends sticking to strict press for better bench carry over but there's nothing better than hucking a bit gnarly weight above your head.  I think I'd go as far to say it's my favourite lift.  Also the lift that gives me the least pre-session anxiety because in my mind it doesn't really matter as it's not a competition lift.  Maybe that helps me enjoy it a little more too.

I'm just about to head and do max Deadlift.  I'm definitely not looking forward to this.  Confidence isn't high so lets hope I can surprise myself.

Day 28

Deadlift Max

2 x 5 - 60kg
5 x 100kg
5 x 140kg
3 x 180kg
1 x 200kg
1 x 220kg
1 x 245kg New PB + 5kg
1 x 250kg Fail
1 x 250kg New PB + 10kg

CG Lat Pull down
3 x 10 - 87kg

Bent Over BB Row
3 x 10 - 80kg

BB Shrugs
3 x 10 - 80kg

Well that was possibly one of my most satisfying lifts to date.  Usually after failing a max deadlift I would never even consider trying it again as the amount of energy used getting to that sticking point and hanging there just destroys me.  I was seeing stars and I thought that was it.

I recovered quite quick though and I've always said if I can get it off the floor and to my upper shin then I'll always get it as my lock out is strong.  After a quick survey of those in the gym it was decided I was going to try again (they were always going to say that weren't they :D ).  I watched the video back and my plan was simply to pull it as fast as I could through that sticking point so I didn't waste energy in the **** zone.  Words can't describe the adrenaline and endorphins that were going through my head after making that lift.  It was almost overwhelming which is why I was holding my head a lot.  It's moments like this which keep me lifting heavy and working towards max lifts instead of bodybuilding.  I just don't think it's possible to feel that repping out.  Still buzzing this morning.

Have you ever done much else or just stuck to prohormones?

Not done a "real" cycle before.  More recently I've used MK677 and Revolver from BC but it's just been occasional PH cycles.  My biggest help has been stubborn consistency with training.  I've never been one of those "I'm just getting back into it" people.

Consistency is the hardest thing, so to get that right you're sorted with or without drugs.

I haven't gone down the real cycle route yet, but I will be one day. Still tempted by some of the better rated PH's first. Halo is the one I want to try first as I've seen a few logs on here (including yours) with good results.

I've done BC revolver, didn't do anything for me. But I've just finished their MK677 and thats definitely had a positive effect, nothing drastic though, but good enough to recommend for weight gain.

Amazing strength mate honestly impressive and your lifts are major goals for me, very similar to yourself I only chase numbers and that's all that matters to me.
