Cheers chaps.  I'll be off to try and hit my Bench prediction shortly.  Hopefully I can make it a full 4/4 targets hit.

Day 30

Bench

10 x 60kg
10 x 80kg
3 x 100kg
1 x 120kg
1 x 130kg
1 x 140kg
1 x 150kg New PB + 5kg
1 132.5kg Fail

10 x 120kg
2 x 10 - 100kg

Weighted wide Grip Pull Ups
10 x 20kg
10 x 20kg
5 x 20kg
5 x 20kg

Tricep Pull Downs
3 x 10 - 25kg

DB Hammers
3 x 10 - 18kg

Weighted Side Bends
3 x 20 - 25kg

Treadmill Walk - 10 minutes

Well I got the number I was hoping for but I came away feeling a little disappointed.  It didn't move as well as I'd hoped and I don't feel my line or technique were particulary good.  I decided to try 152.5kg with some elbow sleeves on but they were far too big for me and I may as well put shopping bags on :D

I suppose I cant' really complain as I've hit all the numbers I hoped for plus an extra 5kg on my squat.  I'm gonna deload a bit next week and then maybe have another crack at the overhead press the week after.

Mate nothing to be dissapointed about there. 150kg bench is huge. It didn't even look that bad apart from the sticking point. Brilliant numbers and progression, it seems you've really enjoyed this cycle.

Days 31 & 32

Rest

Today is day 33 and the Promag is gone as expected.  I think I'm just going to keep running the Tren until the end of the bottle.  I've had seriously zero sides at all through this cycle so far.

I might go to the gym in a bit.  If not I'll go tomorrow.  I'm having a fairly easy week I think then I may have another crack at that over head press max again and restart Russian masters and Ed Coen routines.

Ah right nice same as Ed then I think? I tried some tren with a pmag cycle before and the cycle didn't really wow me at all and certainly didn't go as good as Eds is going.

Yeah Tren is from BC.  I've really enjoyed this cycle so far.  Bodyweight is up to 89.7kg so I've gained a bit but not too much which is ideal.  Strength has gone according to my set targets and the sides have been pretty much zero.  I could have improved my diet as I've ate far too much **** and drank too much booze but looking at me I'm still in good condition.  I think next time I might try Halo and Tren and really try and tighten up the diet.

Day 34

Rest

Day 35

Overhead Press
5 x 40kg
5 x 60kg
3 x 80kg
2 x 90kg
2 x 100kg
1 x 110kg
1 x 122.5kg Fail
7 x 100kg

Thrusters
15 x 60kg

Reverse DB Flyes
3 x 10 - 20kg

Shieko Skulls
3 x 10 - 30kg

I'd already decided that I was going to have another go at that max as I was so close last week.  To be fair I didn't feel up to as I'm knackered following a night shift so it was silly really.  I just repped out 100kg after to make up for the disappointment.  The thrusters were a little experiment with a view to attempting "Heavy Fran".  I was blowing out my arse after that set.  I think I'd get through "Heavy Fran" but I definitely wouldn't be worrying the Crossfit world.

I'm going to  have a light deload week this week now.  I'm definitely feeling tired from all the max work this week.  Will try and get my diet in order for the last two weeks........starting tomorrow though.  There's at least two portions of cake in todays future.

Strong weight to be throwing about above your head though mate!

I really need to adopt a similar approach to your style of training as I have noticed from your log you don't tend to faff about with many accessory movements/sets

I can't recommend Russian masters squat routine and Ed Coens Bench and Deadlift routines enough.  They really do work if you follow them to the letter.  Don't add anything and don't leave anything out (Ok I may add a little extra on Bench day but it's nowhere near as taxing as the other two).  Overhead press I just do my own rough version based around Wendlers.  Great routines.

I like 531 and I think the biggest thing is to enjoy the program before all else.

However might look into giving these a try some point you've got some good numbers and they're goals for me right now.

Great work mate, unlucky on the latest OHP but at least you've still got the 120kg in the bag.

I'm in the same boat as Monster here, your numbers are my goals as well lol.

Currently thinking about my next strength routine and Russian masters is one of them, although I've just finished the Smolov squat plan a few weeks ago so part of me is thinking its too soon to jump straight back into another heavy squat program. I've think I've come to the conclusion though that I need to squat heavy twice a week in order to maintain any strength in my squat. The problem with these tried and tested squat plans is it often means putting other lifts like deadlift and bench on the backburner, which is something I don't want to do too often.

531 is already a favourite of mine which I will always use as my base plan, as you can train all 4 of the big lifts, but the gains are slow and steady. However as I'm only squatting heavy once a week my squat tends to suffer, and I make minimal strength gains if at all.

Could you recommend any plans which are good for training heavy with consistency on all 4 lifts, or is it really best to stick to a squat plan, then a bench plan, then a deadlift plan, then OHP?

Or do you know any plans which are dedicated to the squat for example, but allow room to still train the other 3 lifts quite heavy?

I run the Russian Masters, Coen Bench and Coen Deadlift all at the same time.  There's no reason you can't as long as you're not being stupid with your inputted training maxes plus isn't Smolov squatting four times a week?  Russian master is only twice.  I've also finshed one week and started the next in the past without a deload.  I figure the change in load is a good enough deload sometimes.  This time however I'll be having a light week.

For example my training max for my last squat run was 203kg and I did the 9 weeks without wraps and then maxed in wraps.  My deadlift training max was 230kg but it's important to really bust your balls on the set assistance work with that one.  The bench routine is just set out nice and simple.  I just added some pull ups, light tricep and bicep work after.

The overhead press I kind of do a rough Wendlers style training but as it's not a competition lift I'm happy to just go in and do whatever I like in that session.  Main thing is if you're truly feeling smashed (not just lazy) then listen to your body and make the apporpriate adjustments.  I think it was the 9th week of the deadlift programme I backed off on the assistance work as I knew I was feeling a little beaten.

I'll be heading to the gym for an easy squat session shortly.  Sauna and jacuzzi too :D

I really enjoyed Smolov but yes it is 4 times a week so not good on the joints and tendons long term.

Thats good to know that I can train multiple plans at the same time. I don't go overkill on accessory movements so hopefully I shouldn't burn myself out providing I listen to my body. Time to start planning my next strength cycle.

I'm currently doing a short stint of hypertrophy but like yourself I find repping out nowhere near as rewarding as hitting a new max.

Cheers for the tips mate.

Day 36 (I think)

Squat
2 x 5 - 60kg
5 x 100kg
3 x 140kg
6 x 2 - 170kg

Calf Raises
3 x 20 - 100kg

Leg Curls
3 x 10 - 50kg

Incline Walk - 10 minutes

Yeaaaaaah I didn't really do a proper deload there did I.  I decided I would work up to 170kg which is what I'll be using for the base of my next Russian Masters cycle and then just decided to do week 1.  It felt nice and easy though so I'm not going to worry too much.  Definitely deloading Bench this week though and probably Deadlift.
