Proteins 4 u , Custom Protein Review

As Promised , my review of Proteins4U Custom mix formula... :)

As many of you are aware protein powders and supplements either do not contain everyrthing you need or more often the case , they contain everything you need but they taste like filth .....therefore a site and company which offers you the oppertunity to 'make' your own protein mix with the protein/carbohydrates/aminos and creatines , along with the flavorings, sweetners and container of your choice seemed too good to be true , I had to investigate....

Before I dive into the nitty gritty, I must tell you abit about myself and provide a disclaimer ... so that you know the review is an opinion from reputable source, and not an employee/Sponsor etc

Training:
I have been training for a total of 8 years , ranging from Martial arts [both competition and for fun] endurance training [ iron man] , free climbing , strength and power lifting, swimming, running, cycling....

I have tried to post previous supplements I have taken , and my occupation in this space but they continue to be removed , so I will answer any questions about either my OCCUPATION or Previous supplements taken personally....

Disclaimer:
I Joelamb13579 am neither an employee, sponsor, owner, shareholder or hold any affiliation with Proteins4U or Muscletalk. Therefore the following reveiw should be taken as a personal opinion and should not be taken out of context or used in anyway to bermirch or demean Proteins4U/ Muscletalk inlcuding it representitives in anyway, shape or form .....

Now to the review .....I will be finishing each section with a 1-5 points system, 5 being the highest which represents how I 'personally' feel about the product

Proteins4U present their custom formula options e.g proteins/aminos cleanly and simply in the form of slide bars with increments of 10% and 2%, the idea being to slide the bar from left to right , on each of the sections [ proteins/carbs/aminos/creatines] to make your mix up to 100%. Each section has a variety from simple/basic products up to some of the best available, and are priced accordingly. once your 100% mix is made up , you can select a flavour, a sweetener and a container, the overall price is displayed at the bottom of the page per KG [ up to 5kg].

TASTE:
Proteins4u give a taste rating from 1-5 , 5 being the most strong tasting of each of the products you can place in the mix [ e.g l-gluatmine has a rating of 4 , meaning its strong tasting] and offer you the chance to mask these strong flavours with a variety of artificial sweeteners and flavorings. For my Custom mix I decided to go both Unflavoured and unsweetend, as I feel many proetin formulas are far too sweat, or the flavours available are rather uninspiring or taste like moldy carpet.
Expecting that my mix would taste terrible , I was pleasanlty surprised to find that it didnt , and indeed it was 'unflavoured' in that it hardly tasted of anything ! Thus I could neck the whole lot easily without gagging or feeling like I'd just swallowed a dead animal.  so on first impressions I would give the taste 4 out of 5 , however I will be testing some flavoured samples soon, and I will update this section with a second rating for the flavoured options.

Mixability:
Expecting, like so many other protein shakes, to have to shake the protein until my arm drops off or to use an electric blender, I was again surprised how quickly and easily the powder mixed with water with little to no residue left in the bottom [ although there is always some ]. One bad point to mention however though is that I had to rake through my mix on recieveing it to crush up some l-gluatmine or creatine lumps that had not broken down in the creation process, meaning that I am/was not guaranteed to have the same 'mix' of supplmets per scoop, alittle annoying but I didnt affect its overall performance ...so for mixability I give it a 3 out of 5.

Performance:
Due to the amount of training I perform per week, any slight improvement in performance should and was noticed . Therefore you can imagine I was impressed when I've gained 2-3lb of muscle in the course of 3 weeks , and increased my work load in nearly every aspect of my training [Also as part of my course I have to take regular Fitness tests, which test various components of fitness...nearly all my scores doubled since taking P4U mix] ! It is important to note however that I was [previous to starting The Protein4u mix] not taking anything at all other than multivitamins , which could explain the sudden 'growth' in both weight and strength. Taking all this aside , I improved , meaning for all of you who are wondering, the product works ! Due to my personal experince I will Give this product a 4.5 out of 5 for performance.

Conclusion:
As you can probably guess I love this product , and have recently purchased my second order with Proteins 4 u , I have changed the mix slightly , but other than that everything Ive kept the same ....Therefore in conclusion, if you want a low budget all in one , with a high reward [if you put in the time]  this is the one for you...overall i give this product a 4 out of 5, :)

Please feel free to ask any questions, and all constructive criticism is welcome.....

p.s I will be reviewing the new Smartshaker [ the shaker with detachable sections to place pills/protein in] soon , once I find the time....

the mix was as follows ,

    [Custom][Proteins]Milk Protein Concentrate (85%)*1* 50
           [Custom][Carbohydrates]Instant Oats*2* 20
           [Custom][Creatines]Creatine Monohydrate*1* 20
           [Custom][Aminos / Supplements]L-Glutamine*4* 8
           [Custom][Aminos / Supplements]HMB*4* 2
           Flavourings Plain (unflavoured)
           Sweetener Plain (unsweetened)
           Packaging FREE food grade bag
the price came out at just over £16 per kG

as to the 3lb achieved , this is most probably water rentention [creatine] , or due to the fact that before P4u  i was / and have not been taken any supplments for about 4-5 months ......or my scales , and the gyms, and my Uni's scales are **** ?

I tried to write down my training hours before [ often over 20 , due to my Uni course and personal choice] and what I do as a job/previous supplements taken but they were removed for some reason ....

again i can understand why its unbelievable [the amount I have gained/test scores achieved] , but I wouldn take the time to sit at a computer and write the above review out if it wasnt true ....believe me , I have better things to do .....

So after your last statement, your claims on it "working" are irrelevant?

You do know whey protein is just another food source?  If you are the athlete you claim then I can presume your diet was tip top already?
Claiming your scores doubled (?) is laughable at best, but in my honest opinion, I think a lie.

maybe the "testing" equipment are as rubbish as your uni scales?
