Puking

Everytime I do the 20 rep squat. I feel like I am going to puke at the end. I haven't puked yet but I get that feeling.

I am just curious if anyone knows, What is that creates that upchuck feeling?

Thanks.

Just one of them things I think depends on what you have eaten how soon before you train. I used to chuck now and then squatting normally brought on by bad breathing rhythm or lack of !!!!!

    lol...

I am doing legs now which is Squats - 4 sets. reps rising 4 - 6 - 8 - 12. followed immediately by single leg presses 3 sets. 20 reps on each side. adding 25% and pushing till failure then 25% added again and push till failure.

I was almost sick 3 times after my first time with this leg routine. and couldn't walk properly for 5 days.... I loved it except for the almost puking part!

Years ago I remember a real hardcore BBer telling me that you can spot the true hardcore gyms, by the prescence of a bucket next to the squat rack

Used to be one in my old gym and the culprit/victims name would be added in marker pen as a sort of "hall of fame" lol

If you are feleing like puking after the 20 reps it means you must be doing them correctly and with the repuired intensity. A lot of people do 20 rep squats with nowhere near the effort that is needed.

Its just the stress of effort involved that give you that feeling after the set.

Thanks .... So I guess it is a good thing.

Richyd posted the below leg workout in the beginner section. It looks impressive but I do not see how it is humanly possible. When I do the 20 rep squat that is my entire workout. There is nothing else. I'm am spent after that single set of 20.

To me that is the beauty of the routine. Rack up do one set, shower and go home. There is no way in hell I could do 3X20.

I wish I was man enough for something like that.

    This looks incredibly hard.

Try this dai it a seriously hard sess but real good.

    Squats 10,8,6

    3 x 20 rep wide stance squats

    leg press 10,8,6

    stiff deads 10,8,6

    calf raises 2 x 25

Awesome session m8 give it a go 20 reppers after squats are brutal

if the twenty rep squat is done as should, there is no way you could follow with another two sets.........if you can then the 20 reppers were to lite

Very true. If you training partner says to you after a 20 rep set 'Right, what will we do next' it's also a sign that you haven't put enough effort into the set.

There is a certain stage in the 20 rep squat set when the pain actually disappears because everything has gone numb below the waist.

It sounds like you are doing everything as it should be sanchin.

    That is nasty.

I can't get past the smell of puke. My wife always cleaned up the kid's puke.

She is tougher than I am. Puke makes me puke.

The would usually yell at me and tell to get out cause she didn't want to clean up my puke also.
