Pull up progression. any exp?
Iv never been one for pull ups. However iv decided to try and improve them.
Id like to hit 20 in one sitting...
I normally do pull ups once a weeks 3 sets of maximum reps. I get something like:
8 to 10
6 to 8
3 at a push... so not amazing. I use strict form. I cant get away with the cross fit fish out of water crap.
Anyhow after a bit of googling iv found three methods that iv looked at.
Method 1 - 4 sets of pull ups everytime I enter the gym starting of at set amount and slowly increasing.
Method 2 - Weighted pull ups starting of with 5kg doing as many as I can. Then drop the weight of and do as many as I can. Twice a week.
Method 3 - a full new training plan consisting of two days of back work. This to me seems over kill and I'm happy with my current routine.
I'm leaning towards the weighted pull ups. Has anyone spent time improving there pulls ups? What method did you use?
