Pushdown Alternative ?

I havent got any cable stuff at home, just a couple of benches, BB + DB's.

    Close grip, skull crushers, tate press, roll overs, extensions...... they're the only ones I do and that's with access to cables and other glorious machinery.

    All of the ^^^^^^^^^^^ are good choices plus tricep dips.

    Yeah I suddenly realised when I acted pushdowns out, what was actually happening can be done with the others like the above.


    Is it ok to close grip if you've done chest before the tris ?

    I love me some close grip bench and weighted dips. And you can do dips between any thing that will hold you. At one point I had to do dips between two metal chairs with wieghts in the seats to keep'em from tipping and then dangle a DB between my legs with a rope. Don't laugh, I'm poor and desperate for a good work out.

    Add weight and you'll get better. I suck ass at pull ups but since I started adding weight, instead of just my own body weight I've gotten better. And dips, when I started doing dips I could do about 11 with my body weight. Now I can bang out 4 sets of 10 no sweat with two 45 lb plates under me. Keep adding weight and you'll improve.
