Rant - Teens in the Gym

My gym recently moved to a new facility, andit's getting a little rediculous. It used to be a fairly hardcore gym; somewhere between a spit/sawdust gym, and a YMCA, so it was fairly good. Now it's got a full out fitness gym feel to it.

The worst part is, there are TONNES more kids (13-20) training there now. Don't get me wrong, one of my favourite things to see is when there's a young person busting arse in the gym to get somewhere. It's these fukcing groups of 5 or 6 teenagers, who stand around the racks, talking about getting wasted on the weekend. Leering at the women, leaving weights on the bar, etc. I can't freaking stand it any more.

I might have to get all the old regulars together, and start a revolution. Viva la power rack!

/rant over

edit - I'm only 18 too, so it's not like I have a problem with kids in the gym; it's kids who use it as a social gathering place, instead of somewhere to put in work

I'm 16 aswell. I have friends that go to the gym to chat and look at women, and I get annoyed at them aswell!

I also get annoyed at people taking the piss and mocking young people because we're young eg a small skinny guy walks up to me whilst I am drinking my PWO shake, and says "oooh what kind of magic formula is that?".
He would have never ever have said that to someone older!

    It's not just teens mate.
Plenty of guys in my gym are in their 30's but train like bicep boys.

There's a group like that at my gym, 5 of them always train together. Makes me laugh though they all listen to the loudest one about what exercises etc to do and he's puny as ****.

I know they train at 7.30ish so I just train earlier or later.

UNI gyms are twice as bad, every tom, dick and harry comes down spending ages between sets and training incorrectly. As Ak_88 said very few people there actually train their guts out.

Some of the Rugby boys spend ages around the bench chatting about absolute bollox and preventing other people from using it, as a result they have become known as Swansea University Really Feminine Club as oppose to Rugby Football Club by some of the more experienced gym members.

I'm a teen in the gym, do you hate me

Nah I know what you mean, luckily now I have moved to a more 'hardcore' gym I am surrounded by serious trainers.

The lesuire center I used to train att was a slightly different story, although all of the regulars where serious there was ofetn groups of youths who would come in and 'train'

Lesiure centres, health clubs, even uni gyms are not as good as "hardcore" gyms. I'm moving back to one of those type gyms after the summer. I think seeing people around you training hard makes you train hard.
