Reaching 30....

Next Thursday I hit the big 3 0. Anyone freak out before hitting 30, or is it just another number....??

It is just another number.. Just a high number.  It's ok though.. at 30 you have plenty to look forward to.. Receding hairline, weight gain, and a reduced libido..  Enjoy the big day!!

P.S.. Just kidding... It's just a number... nothing more.

It's just another number, a very frickin high number however.

Try not to worry about it too much old chap. Look on the brightside, soon you will be able to claim your free bus pass. Happy birthday

Ha ha - Im not getting that freaked out to be honest, I know quite a few people who have tho. May start freaking out cos im not freaking out.... lol

I just always grew up with the thoughts that you were married and had kids by 30. My Dad was married at 19 and had two kids by the time he was 25.

I just think life has time shifted 10 years and we live in a different world today...

Truth be told I dont recall feeling much, in fact truth be told the first part of my thirties carried on much as my twenties had, hence the spells in rehab.

As I approach 40, I am filled neither with a sense of dread or panic, rather calm.

It'll be the biggest relief of your life!!!!  You'll finally see an end to those "Oh, uoi're 30's are just around the corner" remarks as if you're going to wake up with a grey beard!  I'm 31 now. My 30th was a great day.  Lots of my mates rang me up to shout "YOU OLD GIT" down the phone.  Nobody called to raoar the same nonsence on my 31st.  In fact, all I get is complements about how I'm still young and fresh looking.  I always know that years of heavy drinking and poor diet with catch up on the funny guys I went to school with.

i'm 27 and i hate the approach to 30 as i remember how i used to say to people how so n so was old as they were 27-28 etc.

30 is not even half way to retirement and things only became interesting in my life at 21+ so in all reality, i have only been 'living' for myself for 6 years.

so i dont think i'd freak out so much

It's just another number. If you aren't happy in a given situation and you're turning 30 or 40 or 25 it's exactly the same

Once you get past 21, birthdays are just another piss up. Providing you got the next day off work. Even when it was my 21st could not see the big fuss!

    I'm 30 too

26 or 27 is the ideal age. You're still young, but not a kid

But in your 30s? Damn, that's old

30 was no big deal to me. I think because I was expecting it to be a major event, it turned out to be a non event.

31 totally freaked me out though. I didn't think much of it until it came along and then it hit me.

    Wait till you hit 40.

I was dreading it, hated it as it came and went and am still actively hating my age now.

    Hope this helps.

    30 is just a number - yes it's a high one but don't panic.

    40 however...
