Resistance band with bench press question?

My gym has a bench station but there aren't any clips on the floor to attach resistance bands to each side. I'm hoping to attach one band to either side of the barbell and have it go under the bench instead.

I've searched on amazon an there's a whole load of bands at different resistances (example linked below).

Would these bands be suitable for using for bench pressing this way or has anyone experience of using them or others?

Iv seen guys use the heaviest DB as an anchor these where hexagon DB. Round ones probably be just as good tho.

Bench in a Power cage with safeties if using bands.

I've used bands a good few years back and at least back in the day it really was a case of you get what you pay for. Cheap ones are good for yoga moms and don't provide anywhere near enough resistance for anything more than some shoulder rotations, plus they wear out very quickly if pushed (well pulled) hard.

The sort of bands you'd need for bench presses would probably cost 10x that much I think, they have to be really thick heavy duty stuff.

I've used those exact bands for bench resistance.

You can loop a single band under the bench, which makes it pretty unstable and good for close grip stability work.

Or, use the heavy dumbell approach.  Or, in a smith machine (which takes away the stability bonus but allows you to work on lockout).  You can loop the band around the end of the bar, then under the frame and back up to loop over one of the hooks, which allows you to adjust the resistance.

But, as Animal said, best bet is hooks or a cage. (I've also recently snapped a purple during banded rack pulls, so will be getting my next pair from strength shop or modifit)

Agee with Uriel. Those bands are cheap and come from a random Chinese company. Probably ok for hip thrusting but not something I’d trust with a Heavy Barbell hanging over my head

My black strength shop ones cost about £17 each
