Rice And Pasta Question

Hi,

I intend bringing in some rice or pasta for my lunch at work as im getting bored with sandwiches.

As i dont like chicken im relying on tuna or mackerel for my protein source.(cant think of anyhting else).

I will have to cook the rice or pasta the night before and eat it cold at work along with the protein source.

So im wondering if anyone has any ideas of giving the cold rice or pasta a bit of flavouring as eating it cold does'nt seem very appetitising.

Thanks.

The chilli sauces sound good. Any particular brand mate?

You could add a stock cube to the water when boiling the rice.
As for sauces pesto is good or if you mix tahini and yogurt to make a sauce is good too.

for your pasta, i would jazz it up by adding a bit of low fat mayo, red onion, peppers and sweetcorn, celery also cud add your tuna here.

for your rice; sweetcorn, red onion, peppers, celery, and mix some makeral. if you buy tin makereal, use a bit off the oil to wet it up a bit. A bit of salt and pepper, lovely!!

or....if you like pesto, a spoon full of the red or green is nice also. Although, i would mix this in when you just cooked it.

    hope this helps

So when i eat the rice or pasta cold, can i also eat the sauce cold? Or does this need to be cooked the night before and then stored in the fridge?

Most sauces you should be able to eat cold mate, if you look on the jar/tin/packet it should tell you if it is NOT to be eaten cold.
