Routine, For those who are interested.

Hello all,

Now, for those who have been on the forums here long enough, they will remember me as someone more into strength training than aesthetics based bodybuilding, however I think this routine is a cracker for anyone.
I'm not sure if anyone has heard of 'Untamed Strength' or Alan Thrall, so I am going to add a disclaimer.

The following routine is designed by Alan Thrall of Untamed Strength. I am giving him full props for this routine. I am personally advanced as a lifter and even I am using this to make a start  back in the gym after 6 months off (been working away, though before that I was training strongman). It's a great, uncomplicated routine and would, in my opinion, be sound for beginners and Intermediates, perhaps even beyond with the correct programming. I honestly believe a lot of people convince themselves they are more advanced than they really are.

Enjoy:

Day One:
Box Jumps - 4 X 2
Squats - 5 X 5
Lunges - 4 X 10
SLDL - 4 X 10

Day two:
Clapping Pushups - 3 X 3
Bench Press - 5 X 5
Barbell OHP - 4 X 10
PullUps - 4 X 10

Day Three:
Bounds - 6 X 1
Deadlifts - 5 X 5
Front Squats - 4 X 10
Barbell Rows - 4 X 10

That's it.

Very basic, very simple. I've been trying it, and it's brilliant in my opinion. I look forward to going into the gym and hitting it hard, and it's really, really nice to be utilising something so simple again. The Cube for Strongman was the last program I ran before moving to work in Alaska for 6 months on a research posting, and it's nice to just be doing something so simple again.

Below is a link to the Youtube video featuring this program, and Alan Thrall.

I am in no way affiliated to him, or his gym. I just really enjoy the guys videos, he is a common sense first kind of guy, and the videos he makes are heavy on humour too.
I think he has made some real gems.

 Enjoy.

    You're not wrong Big.

He does some cracking videos, and this one stood out for me. I was going to use 5/3/1 to start building back up to heavy weight but this will get me there faster in the short term, and then i'll switch out to something a little more complicated once gains are back up where they should be.

I particularly liked his video on how to eat 10,000 calories a day. He must have been s*****g a masterpiece every hour.

That said, I did add face pulls to this routine on Bench day for 2 x 15-20 and some band pull aparts on deadlift day as I have a real paranoia about thoracic kyphosis lol, though I don't even have it, and I switched bench and OHP around, purely because I need the focus on heavy overhead pressing for strongman. But his base template is a wickedly simple routine that I think a lot of people could do worse than following.
