Russell Brand

Anyone watching him on Question Time now? He seems like he means well but he doesn't appear to know how to go about making the changes he wants to make.

A lot of hot air from him, makes some good points but as you say, can't articulate solutions. As he's said though, he's a comedian and not a politician.

I wrote to Mary Creagh regarding devolution for England in the aftermath of the Scotland vote - still no response from her a couple of months since - poor!

She is a shocker. Awful excuse for a politician. Typical new labour.

He won an award a few days ago for this very subject.

He has points, many I dont agree with but also states them in such a nonsense way its hard to understand.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/413564/Russell-Brand-award-talking-nonsense-Foot-In-Mouth

Ive given up on question time I used to like it but its the same topics over and over. Its never really the voice of the people on there, either in the audience or on the panel.

It also seems biast towards left wing as well. The left wing people are usually sensible and the right wingers they have on there are much to far right like Nick Griffin or have an image like Farage who I would like to listen to but his party makes blunder after blunder with some of the old school bigots he has in it.

Im a bit disillusioned with politics at the moment the main parties are all the same just with small changes to try and win votes.

Not that im bitter about applying 3 times to get in the question time audience lol .

BTW im not replying to this post im not getting into politics on here. Thats first and last post :)

Russell Brand has offered ideas and suggestions, but he hasn't ever suggested he'd be the one to implement those ideas or changes. He merely highlights the issues, its for us to lobby our MPs to make the changes we want to see not for Russell brand to do it for us.

But he tells us not to trust our politicians, which is entirely sound advice, yet he won't stand for office, so who do we lobby?

Someone in the audience told him to stand as a politician instead of expressing his own opinions.

Yes and he said 'No because I don't want to end up like them'. Not the best of answers. I want to like him but it all seems a bit empty.

He's just a sound bite man. Same as Farage, just shouting a different populist message.

I thought Farage looked much more accomplished next to him. Brand kept resorting to snide remarks about the fact that Farage went to private school. I had hoped for better.

This

He's not going to run as a politician because he's a comedian. He is just raising issues and pointing to people who are more qualified to put forward solutions

I agree with the guy who told him to stand, it's easy for him to bellyache and spout his crap, stand and do something about it.
