SSC + HIIT

Hi,
any reason why i shouldnt tag some HIIT on the end of my morning SSC ?
Instead of my usual walk this morning i did an hour on the excersise bike, after the hr was up i did a few bouts of balls out for 1min then steady again for 3mins .
Quite enjoyed it and cant see any harm but is there any reason not to.

Also if i do my SSC (walking for an hour am) how would 20 mins or so of intervals on the bike in the pm be, too much or dont mix the 2 types up etc ?
Cant see any reason why not, extra cals burnt and gets my fitness up a bit a the same time. I like fasted steady state but its not really doing a deal for my fitness.

Cheers for any suggestions

    Hey mate.
I've done this in the past with success. Done 30 mins SSCV then 15-20 mins of HIIT and also done the other way around too with HIIT first then SSCV.
I walk in the morning and occasionally throw in some nightime HIIT following weights too. I listen to my body and if it seems too much i knock it back. Mind you i'm prepping for a comp so feel knackered most of the time!
Bottom line is, try it and see how you react to it mate.

X2 do the SSCV in the am and then some HIIT in the evening after having a feed.

As long as the cardio in the morning isn't fasted i think HIIT in the a.m can be beneficial. If wanting to do fasted cardio then yes standard sscv should be used and HIIT done later. I've had success with both ways personally.
