STRENGTHEN MY KNEES

I seem to have quite weak knees so i need to build them up.

I play a lot of footy but i've noticed since i've returned to training they feel very week and i seem to be getting a lot of problems with them.

would basic squats be good for building them up or would i need to do other types of exercices.

    what exactly do you mean by "weak knees"?

    arthritic?
    unstable kneecap?
    easily inflamed?

    Sorry for the delay in replying,

    They just feel like there is no power in them, it's hard to describe. I think it may just be an overall leg strength problem.

    i seem to have developed pattella tondonitis. I've read that this could be to do with poor thigh muscles and also where the knee is week and the knee cap doesn't run in it's natural groove.

    I want to do some exercises that will help correct my leg allignment and pul my knees back in to place.

    Still could do with a bit more info as to what's going on with your knee. Patella tendonitis is when the tendons connecting the patella bone to your knee gets damaged and they repair themselves but scare tissue forms on them, If you play a lot of footie that could give you petellea tentonitis. Football puts alot of stress on your patellea tendons especially if your playing for 90mins everyweek.
     
    I dont think poor thigh muscles can have a bearing on your patella tendons.  There is no exercise you can do that will help correct you leg allignment and pull your knees back in to place. 
      
    Are you getting any pain if so where is it.
