Selling scrap gold

Had a clear out of my jewellery the other day.  Found some broken chains and also some bits of jewellery that are either naff or hold bad memories for me.  Also some stuff I haven't worn for over 10 years.  So I packaged it up and sent it off to an online company that buy scrap gold.  They priced it at £413 which they transferred to my bank a/c in 10 mins!  Was very pleased with that.  That's my holiday spends for Cyprus hehe

Just a heads up really, as might be a little money spinner for anyone looking to make a bit of extra dosh, especially if you have any broken jewellery or stuff you will never wear again.

Well what was there, let me think?

9ct - 2 pairs of gold hoops (bent and bit crap),  2 bits of broken gold chain,  a crappy gold locket on a chain, 21st key on a chain (I'm never going to wear that!), pair of small drop gold earrings I hate

18ct - 2 quite heavy gold rings which I bought about 10 years ago.  They have bad memories for me and also I was about 18 stone when i bought them so had sausage fingers and they are waaaay to big now!!  They had to go.  Also a bracelet I bought at the same time, again bad memories.

22ct - Gold ring which I have never worn and has been in a drawer for about 12 years

The value of gold is pretty good at the moment isn't it - certainly up from when Gordo got rid of loads of our supplies of it. Great idea to announce it 1 week in advance Gordon and force the price down. Pat on the back for that one.

I bet you were wel chuffed with over four hundred quid Fi - how many Friday donuts will that pay for?

Awesome pic, but Tony you're not doing yourself many favours posting up tips on preventing the gag reflex and then a picture of a guy touching his toes - Ak

Prices used to be terrible for gold, but if you have some 18 or 24ct items of decent solidity you can do ok!

keep hearing these adverts on the radio and TV , they must be doing quite well from it to be able to afford to advertise on tv

what exactly did they buy from you? in terms of .. e.g

    2 rings
    2 bracelets
    1 necklace

    etc?
