Sergei Skripal , Russian spy poisoning

Anyone else find this story a bit odd ?

With all the funds and resources at there disposal , Russian agents chose to bring a nerve agent over from Russia to poison one of there own ? and now the UK wont release any samples for examination . Do you not think they would do there best to make it look like it wasn't Russia who poisoned him with all the sanctions and tension it may cause if they just wanted someone dead ?

smells fishy to me!

Fed up of the story tbh. These kids of assassinations happen all the time but because this one has happened on our soil then the government need to make a big statement about how we will not tolerate it. He was an ex spy, a job that comes with very high risks.

Russia did it, but they will deny it of course. Then what happens? War? Unlikely. It will then get forgotten about and we will go back to being friends/allies again.

Do you think Russia did it ? they couldn't have done a worse job of covering there tracks if they have , doesn't make much sense to me , makes more sense if someone else did it and tried to make it look like the Russians .

Unless the Russians wanted the UK Government to know they did it. The problem with the UK is it still thinks it's a big player on the world stage. Putin is probably laughing his tits off.

Genuinely don't get the Wests obsession with Russia. So what is they offered a double agent spy hardly a shock for a nation thats been brought up on James bond is it.

Absolutely I think it was Russia. Its a Russian made poison, that can only be made in a few labs in the world, one of which being in Russia.

Plus the target was an ex russian spy, a traitor to his home country.

The Russians can't be trusted at all, look at the doping scandal cover up. The Russian government still categorically deny that they were part of any doping program, even though the bloke who whistleblowed on them said that they were all involved, including Putin.

I’m totally burned out on the Russia theories tbh. Every useless politician the West over throws Russias name out there when things get awkward. I’m at the point I dont believe any of it and if I’m honest I’ve started to admire Putin a bit.

so the people who wanted him dead went all the way to Russia , brought the poison over and made sure it was Russian poison that did the damage rather than just use something that was readily available in the UK ?? So you'll choose to believe the unbelievably biased and lying media and trust a government that started an illegal war based on lies about WMD's over one that lied about a sports doping program ?  not sure i'm with you on all that , ill remain skeptical.

DR David Kelly was a suicide as well I assume ??

I believe what I want to believe. Corruption exists everywhere, but I still trust our own government more so than the Russians.

If they are happy to lie about a doping scandal, then I'm pretty sure they will be willing to lie about anything else, including assassinations and chemical weapons.

I don't know anything about Dr David Kelly, so have no reason to comment.

The only threats the UK has on its own, hurt us as much as them. It would need European or global cooperation to have any real impact.

I do believe Russia did it, they probably want it to be known to send a message to any other would be spies and knowing we cant/wont do anything about it ( as shown with the alexander litvinenko assassination ) they dont give a **** that we know its them

Thats how religion works , so you choose liar A over liar B , makes sense , ill use the facts and my own mind and critical thinking skills rather than just believe some political guff , thinking like yours caused a million dead Iraq's. I suggest you read about WMD's and DR David Kelly before drawing conclusions without doing any research, you might think differently. Its not as if the Western governments have a good reputation for being honest.

Didn't one of our guys 'kill himself' by padlocking himself inside a sports bag (from the outside) in his own bathtub?
