Setting up secure internet shop

If i haven't forgotten my stuff then I'm able to design my pages etc

But how do i go about setting it up so net transactions can be made?

I found snips of info but i'll be honest i don't really get how to do it and implement it on your site? never learnt it..

If you don't have the ability to process credit cards already, you will need to set up a merchant account through a bank that accepts Internet transactions so you can process your orders .

Also, understand that if you are already able to process credit cards in your retail business, you cannot assume that your current bank will allow you to accept internet orders. You need to talk to them first to see if they allow the processing of internet type orders. Most of the time they will not .

Which banks offer this facility? I have a connect account with Barclays currntly..

basically 3 questions.. any other helpful info welcome ta
