Should breakfast be the biggest?

Lets say for example I was aiming to lose weight, so decided to cut my calories to 2000. Would it be better to have say have 6 meals od say 333 calories, or have a bigger breakfast than the other meals to account for the exit of 'starvation mode' following sleep?

Thanks

I try to spread my meals out so that they are approximately equal in calorie content. I do eat less carbs towards bed time, some don't agree with this but I find it makes a difference.

I tend to have more calories at breakfast and then keep the rest of the meals about the same.

If you wanted a big meal in the day, breakfast would be best as you will burn most of the calories off during the day

assuming your day follows the typical 9-5 pattern

sometimes when my day is 'evening heavy' the emphasis is on the later meals in the day over those first thing

some say yes-but when i was on a diet my breakfast consisted of a whey shake, and a cereal bar. I ate most of my calories at late afternoon/evening time

I know form my own experience I have to make sure I get a good breakfast or I find that I am starving throughout the rest of the day.

make sure you do eat a substantial amount of calories first thing, eat least 400, this will help to keep your metabolism going, doesn't necessarily have to be the biggest though, but if your on a cut will probably be biggest because consuming 400 in your first meal doesnt leave you with many calories to spare.
