Shoulders exercise?

Is this a good mass building exercise for the shoulders?

you don;t need to use the smith. barbell (or DB) overhead presses are best.

Do push press mate, best shoulder exercise, start with barbell on floor and clean it to your chest then blast the bar up using shoulders...when it becomes too heavy or if you want to cheat and use heavier weight then go on tiptoes as you push which will cause extra momentum behind the bar, like a spring, allowing you to push it up more...meaning you can blast up more than normally...great for wearing the fibres down mate.

I'd stick with seated db press or miltary press mate

    (like big mal says)

Usually use seated dumbbell press for shoulders but training partner has quit so I have no spotter.

Can anyone recommend a good shoulder exercise which doesn't need a spotter.

Always try the Arnold Press, that really hits me, super set it with side raises. You'll feel that burn. And even bent over reverse cable crossovers, but that mite be to advanced

Seated db press does not NEED a spotter. Handy, but not essential.

I stand about 1m in front of the bench, swing dbs together back, forwards, back, then up (like cheating really bad on a curl), then sit down

    Not easy, but possible.

Military press is a VERY good exercise and needs no spotter ...

Arnold's can be a hazard to the rotator cuff, ignore the burn as TBH it means little... and bent over reverse cable crossover fandango swissball one legged jelly split headspins are if anything for the less advanced 'health club' trainers IMHO

    Heavy pressing, simple as that.
