Shut a COC 2 -- (pic)

soyboy beat me to it, and not the best pic in the world but it has been shut.

n.b. my webserver is playing up at the moment, so pic may not show until they sort it out.

Not really sure about the set, all I know is that I'm allowed to push it together slightly to allow me to get my little finger round it, then I just close the way it feels naturally.

yep, thats it. Though it took me months to actually realise how to make a good set, thats why i got mine closed as well.

    I ordered 210 and 240 from www.handgrippers.co.uk - next challenge awaits!

tried the #3 today, now there's a humbling experience, lol!

Chalk makes it easier as it stops it slipping. I don't think chalk should be used all the time though.

vetz, i'm interested to know, how many times have you shut it now?

My history: got it shut on sunday 18th, the next time i was able to shut it was on monday 26th - and only once! Shut it once yesterday as well, and i'm hoping to slowly get more consistant. I already got a bit worried after the initial shut when i couldn't shut it at all in my training.

i'll add this one to this "gripper" themed thread:

just got my baraban grippers 120 and 240, damn... can hardly type after three attempts with the 210, it's a nice jump from #2, i can get the handles a tad bit past parallel, so that should keep me busy for a while

I agree what M5 said though: the 240 feels HARDER than #3, but since they both feel impossible to me, it's likely that i just cant tell the obvious difference between "impossible" and "****ing-no-way-you-ca-close-that-ever"

Has anyone who has closed the Coc 2 also trained with the Ivanko gripper, if so what was the max corresponding setting at the time. I can do a single at the 4 -11 setting (214 ip) and wondered if that would be good enough to close the 2 as I'm too tight to fork out £27 to find out.

I already have the Coc 3 and have managed to close it to 4cm (I must have an extra hard faulty one) and can just about close it fully 2 handed in a chest grip. I've given myself 12 months to crack this sucker.

Only once on this monday just gone, but it was a pretty solid close. I only use them once a week at the moment, usually on wednesday after bench session, as my hands and forearms are sore most of the time from pinches, plate curls (just started these) and thick bar rack pulls. I'll see how I get on with it next week as I'm taking this week off completely.

i'm not an expert, but i do have ivanko as well. The force table is not comparable at all i'm afraid, the ROM is so different, especially closer you get to the "shut" phase. I think Ivanko is way easier and doesn't rely so much on your ring and little finger power in the last millimetres like grippers do. I was able to do 4-11 ages ago, but still no #2 close.

It's good for building sweep power though, IMHO.

Oh well, makes no difference really, the bigger the challenge, the greater the rewards (or something like that). Point is I'm going crack the 3 by the end of this year. It's gonna be plenty of plate pinching and curling, thick bar work and little pinky training.

There's quite a few new Coc 2 ers on here and it'll be interesting to see who gets the No 3 first.
