Silly Question

It may sound thick but what is whey powder, do I need it and where do i get the best form of it from?

I am a newbie but I've read a few posts and diet sheets quoting it so thought I'd ask the silly question.

Cheers

Whey powder is a way of getting protein via liquid calories.

You can get it cheaply from www.myprotein.co.uk and also www.sports-nutrition.net

It is good for PWO (post workout) when you need nutrients quickly, as it is fast acting.

However, for other times of the day for your protein intake, try and get solid protein foods.

So If I was to buy a tub and make up a shake to take with me for after a session that'd be the way to go.

I'm guessing for the solid protein your suggesting sources like egg whites or oats? or both?

Never tried either for breakfast so I may have to do some research and find out what the best way to cook/tasiest recipe is.

For protein oats wouldnt be a good choice, they are in the diet for their carbohydrate content.

Proteins - Chicken, turkey, mince, beef, steak, cottage cheese, quark, fish, etc...
