Sky - What a rip off!

I just browsed through sky's website and thought I'd set myself up for 2 mixes + sports +bband for £39/mo and £20 set up

Checked my landline number and suddenly I need 'bband connect' and the cost is £40 set up and £51/mo!!! no chance

i got rid of Sky years ago, was never anything good on it, only repeats of the same old crap and its still the same.

Just got Virgin media installed today, 2mb boardband + tv package. Got a naughty box coming soon for it.

I really want Sky Sports for the new footy season but can't afford Sky + my broadband, unfortunately my exchange isn't enabled for the Virgin or Sky TV+internet deals, must be why the price went through the roof

    *waits impatiently*

Were it not for the documentary channels and 1 or 2 others like the paramount channel, I would probably bin it.

A lot of repeats of the same garbage. The movie channels are good for 3months if you have the time to watch, but after that you've seen everything, its just constant repeats.

If I could get the news and documentary channels by themselves, I would take them and rent dvds, but the GF would probably freak as she likes watching some of the mental chewing gum such as America's Next Top Model and she loves the house building etc. channels.

i paid £20 set up - then £26/month for 6 mixes (everything except sports nd movies), broadband and free weekend and evening calls. +£40 to BT every 3 months. and they gave me a free wireless router

TBH i dont think thats too bad

    Sky is a tad expensive.

I pay £51 all in but Im really happy with the broadband service. Now thats it up and running it great but I had a horrendous time getting it moved from one home to another

Your all lucky, so stop bitching - I live in Cumbria, I can only just abot get BBC1 and 2, ITV at a oush and if the sky is clear sometimes Ch4. We don't recieve digital here and sky is a no go as we are out of the line of sight!! The final nail in the coffin, we are going to be one of the first regions to get the analogue signal turned off, if they have never got that working in 75 years, what chance is digital got!!

    Still we talk a lot.
