Smith - Machine Squats

I prefer to use the Smith Machine when doing squats.

    I prefer free squats. I can never seem to get the technique right on the smith.

    I'll use the smith for incline/decline benching though. Recently I enjoy a bit of behind the neck pressing on the smith too.

    As above, although on question do it freely, dont use the smith machine at all infact.

    We have a really good Smith Machine so i use it now and again for squats.

    I'll cross that bridge after i've burned it.

    Lol - there was a big debate on UK-M about this a few days ago. It basically ended as those who want to squat for big legs will, but it's not essential to squat by any means.

    i sometimes front squat in the smith machine, keeps the tension on the quads

    Nope, its locks your ody into an unatural movment really, tho do use it alittle for shoulders.

    I find it worse for shoulders than anything else.  the movement is completely unnatural for me.

    Used it once.  Was a completely odd and unpleasant motion, felt out of control the whole time.  At every point of the movement one or more body parts felt in the wrong position.

    I'd stop training rather than do them again.

    I prefer to use the smith machine for pullups and for hanging my towel on when I do barbell squats.

    I do like front squating in a smiths
