I'd be more worried about it effecting your health mate

Your car won't perform the best it can with a dirty air filter.

yeah you'll get a scare but by that time the damage will be done and death wont be far away.

Quit now, 5 or 6 why, just quit, chew gum or drink diet coke or something instead.

I know it is easy to say "just quit" but for me i need to get it in my head that i want to quit i do want to quit but i can not convince my self fully to quit. This probs doesnt make much sence to you but if u where in my shoes you would know.

There is no point in me quitting when inside i still want to smoke

I will do it and i will let you all know when i have started and how i am doing

    Thanks for the advise anyway

I quit for 4 years and then started again in moderation a couple months ago. I'm still hitting PB's in the gym but soon as my trainings effected I'll quit..Ironically I'm leaner now than I've ever been..

I don't think smoking a sensible number of cigarettes will have a noticable impact on strength/mass increases, but that's just my opinion.

That it will affect endurance is a no-brainer though

I didn't realise there was a sensible number of fags to smoke. How many is sensible, 10, 20, 100 a week?

Obviously the most sensible number of fags to smoke is 0. The same number of pints/dbols/lines to do. In fact the most sensible thing to do is to quit bodybuilding and eat less because you'll live longer.

There are lots of good reasons to quit smoking (like not getting lung cancer) but strength loss in the gym doesn't seem a credible one to me.
