Snacks

So they say an apple a day keep the doctor away, what they forget to say is that it also annoys the hell out of gaz when he has to sit their at his desk staring at it making any excuse not to eat it.

So my question is, apart from fruit what healthy snacks would you recommend to have during my morning and afternoon breaks just to keep my metabolism going. Please dont say yogurt as i have that coming out of my eyes at the minute.

There's no doubt hundreds of things, i just cant think of any.

Cheers people

Yogurt - the Fage Total 0% fat greek yogurts are excellent. High protein, low carbs, zero fat and tastes bloody nice. Muller lights are a very close second ...

"Protein Powder .. that's like steroids, right?"

"Yes, chocolate flavoured steroids. I also have some strawberry flavoured crystal meth if you're interested?"

    • Oatcakes or ricecakes or Ryvitas with houmous or cottage cheese or homemade guacemole
    • Raw veg strips like carrot, celery, peppers etc with houmous or guacemole
    • Beef jerky
    • Nuts / seeds  (watch portion size though as cal dense)
    • Homemade veg soup
    • Banana (a lot of people who don't "do" fruit will eat bananas!)

From a different angle... why don't you try eating a decent balanced meal every 3 hours and you wouldn't need to snack!!?
