Snigger - fitness first

Does anyone train at fitness first, manchester or moston.

Just joined up and had a first visit, which has put me right off by some guy
geezer sniggering at me.

Didn't even finish my workout cause felt proper paranoid.

Triathlons hurt.

    I was doing dead lifts.
and as far as I could see my technique was right, but this guy made me really paranoid.

Wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for it was first time I been in this place and I felt really outta place as it was.

I did a year at Fitness First before I ever started lifting weights. I was doing one of the machine chest exercises, but this particular day there was a good looking woman not that far in front of me. I wasn't even looking at her, but when I got to the end of the set and started to go to failure, some guy looked over at me and started laughing. His very simple mind told him I was trying to impress Miss Good Looking in front of me, which couldn't have been further from the truth.

Forget about people who laugh at you. My sister is a kidney transplant patient and went out yesterday to socialise and make herself feel good. She was walking in central London when two guys started slagging her off about her skin. "Look at her face", and stuff like that. These people are wa**ers.

why is it in commercial gyms you get loads of idiots but in proper gyms you get the lads who just get on with it and will step in and help you with anythingthat you need .

deadlifts are unknown in FF as are squats from my expeiance. lateral raises and bench press on the other hand

I saw a guy doing SLDL (well his version) with hardly any weight, have a snigger at me as i warmed up for my standard deads, at which point i stuck the other 4 plates on & rep'ed out. didnt seem to laugh after that

next week he was doing standard deads , so i concluded he didnt actually know how to work his back probably but thought he knew every thing.

moral of the story if you know your doing it right , ignore them !

I'd rather someone come over and say, look ere you tit, your doing this all wrong.
Anyhow, I should take your good advice, and just ignore anyone else.
If someone who knows what they are talking about sees me doing something wrong then, surely they will have a chat.

Only reason I choose fitness first is, that there is one near work and one near home. So i have no excuse for missing sessions, cause can go in the evening if I can't get there at lunch.

Got it on me now though, gunna show this guy who's boss. Although he bigger than me,

I'll say oi ****, you got summert to say, then say it. Otherwise **** off outta my sight.

Thats so true. My gym is full of ruffians and unsavory looking types and although none would ever talk to me, none have ever made me feel unwelcome like people have in other gyms (FF, HP, LA F).

i think fitness first is an over priced and very over hyped gym i mean how lazy can you be a seated bicep curl machine, i dont mean the peacher curl ones but like something you would do with free weights basic curl lol eveything is just seperated and not combiened machine just to fill up the space of unessacary equitment. i mean the one in cheltenham has no power rack how could you miss that out and replace it with a smith machine. i had the same prblem nearly hit the blok i just get advice from everyones else just to ignore him or have very good comebacks to avoid what i nearly did.

they are mandatory in my FF

IMO he is one in 2-3000 members, you would expect the same in a bar, nightclub and anywhere else

these fools exist in every walk of life and should not influence your future actions

plenty of nice people will be found in the gym

I actually find that to be a really good machine for isolating biceps (you are talking about the preacher curl machine right?).

And i'm not a newbie either.

I find Fitness first to be really good, guess i'm just lucky.

My gym has upto 60kg dumbells and a squat rack and it's really convenient i dont get attitude there either.
