Something different to do in Manchester

If you are in the area and are free on any of the nights listed, there's a fabulous play on in the Stanley Room, The Midland Hotel in Manchester.

I’m Frank Morgan by Joe O’Byrne (Stage Play)*
Frank’s a hard man in a dirty old town. A loan shark, he portrays himself as the fourth emergency service to the desperate around here. It’s the blackest of nights for Frank as he invites us into his world, showing us around. It’s a world that Frank rules with an iron hand clad in a broken glass encrusted velvet glove. But as he talks to us the mask is slipping, and we begin to realise that this is the confession of a man destroyed by his own hand…

The play was adapted into a screen version in 2000. The film was very well received and went on to win an award in The KINO Film Festival.

Showing 26th (7.15pm), 29th (8.45pm) and 30th July (2pm)

Tickets £7.50, £4 concessions

Booking line 0161 236 7110

You never know I may be there on one of the nights

    No he's my brother-in-law actually.

Seriously though the film is brilliant so I would expect his play to be good too. Not had the chance to see it yet, hoping to get there this weekend.
