Something instead of dextrose PWO??

After my workouts i have a post workout shake consisting of 45gr whey isolate, 30gr dextrose and 5 gr creatine. Can i replace the dextrose with some other high gi food like corn flakes (honey nut corn flakes...) mixed with the whey in water and get same effect? I wont do this all the time but every once a while as a treat as i am cutting at the moment. Or does this sound stupid? Thanx guys.

Yeah oats are great but i have them for breakfast then go train 2 hours later but dont think oats will do in pwo for two reasons. 1) i have my ppwo meal one hour later and oats wont be digested by then and i wont be hungry and will have to force food down. 2) need hi gi carb after workout. As i mentioned i only take 30gr of dextrose as i am cutting so was just curious to see if there was an alternative so i can change everyonce in a while.

    there is no requirement for
    1 carbs after work out
    2 quick acting carbs PWO
3 carbs PPWO if you have oats PWO when cutting

ok, some people say you should have some sort of fast acting carb when cutting and others say not to. So i tend to go inbetween and take just 30gr of dextrose. I thought this will replenish your muscles of lost glucose and reduce cortisol levels? So you wont go catabolic. So Mr TT, how come you dont use dextrose or any other fast actiing carbs when cutting? I know it releases insulin and will slow down fat loss for a while. But wont it stop you losing muscle when dieting? Im following ur diet at the moment except for the dextrose in pws. Must say, i have lost 17kg on ur diet so have to raise my hands and say it is da bollcks.

you can use dextrose PWO and i would so if you had done cardio after weights

an adequate insulin response is required, not a spike. whey will create a response, detxrose included creates a larger one. oats are shown to replenish glycogen no more slowly thatn dextrose in recent pubmed studies.

it takes us back to the PWO debate which rages on

if it works use it, i have recently switched from detxrose to 4 -6 weetabix PWO

    TT.

Just interested how do you feel when you have your weetabix instead of something quick i.e. dextrose/malto? ? ?

Also how do you find it with the fibre in the weetabix? ? ?

I got some questions too.... After my workouts i usually feel slightly dizzy, not sure how to explain but i expect this is due to low glucose levels. When i have dextrose, the feeling goes after a few minutes but when i dont have dextrose it stays till i have something to eat. So i think i need some sort of carb post workout. But also if u have weetabix pwo then when do u have ppwo meal? I usually have one an hour later but doesnt that many weetabix fill you up?? i have read about ur mad eating habits so dont know why im asking but thought the weetabix wouldnt even had time to digest after 45min to an hour?

The weetabix will get there quite quickly.

It would depend on if you are cutting or bulking if you had carbs at PWO or PPWO.

If you feel dizzy and in need of nutrients, then add them.
