Spinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Is spin HIIT?
Do you know what spin classes are? They are classes where they get a number of people on Bicycles and spin on different speeds for an hour.

is this a good cardio?

    SPIN is great for cardio fitness and I do loads of classes and I've still got loads of muscle for a female!! I would definately recommend it. I've been teaching Spin for about 18 months now and I've never felt so fit. It is intense, but you are buzzing at the end of it. Do it!

    Pike, you are just jealous because I do 20 classes a week and you aren't fit enough to do one! I'm going to force you to do one on your Birthday this year.

    A bit more infor about spin for your Colchester.

    In a class situation you are basically taken on a cycle journey which is set to upbeat, motivating music.

    You vary the resistance depending on what you are doing. For example you will do seated hill climbs and standing hill climbs where you will wack on as much resistance as you can, to really test your endurance and work every muscle in the legs, then you will reduce the resistance and sprint as fast as you can, working at your maximum effort, 100% if you can. In the class there may also be "jumps" which means standing and sitting for various counts ie. 2, 4, 8, etc and sometimes I do bicep and tricep dips on the bike whilst standing. Sometimes we change our position on the bike by hovering over the saddle to work the glutes, or chest forward over the handle bars to work the hamstrings more, or holding low in front ot the saddle to target the quads. In an advanced class I often finish with either hill/sprint intervals or seated sprints intervaled with standing sprints. This is the real killer!!!! Once you go to a Spin class you will be addicted. It is truly fantastic. Please let us know how you get on.

    P.s. Classes vary in degrees of intensity, so make sure you find a good, motivating instructor.

    It was the best and hardest workout I have ever done but the thing about it is that i that I am able to do it. I wouldn¡¦t be able to do half that on my own. I absolutely loved it, was sweating like a pig and what a high when I finished it. The instructor has a wicked since of humor and put that ¡§ always look at the bright side of life¡¨ theme at the chill out part at the end of the work out and it was wicked ƒº
