Split week routines

Has anyone ever tried a bi-weekly split routine. That is,weight lifting the first week with emphasis on each body part twice that week and then only cardio the following week? Then back to weight lifting the week after and agin cardio the week after that? The cardio sessions would be 30mins long five times a week.

I would seem to me that you can focus alot more on cardio and weight lifting by seperating the two? Plus you can also give your muscles a well deserved rest for a full week.

Your thoughts would be great.
Thanks

I think this would be a great cutting routine , again since it allows you to focus on each particular cycle independently. Again, I have never used it before and was just wondering if any of you guys experienced any results with this routine.

Theoretically would it work? or is there too much down time between weight lifting routines?
