Squats instead of Cardio ?

I hate cardio, and i was wondering if a few sets of high rep squats at the end of each of my workouts would be a good substitute for cardio and still help with shifting the fat. If so how many sets, reps etc , all comments greatly appreciated.

    Stick to the cardio mate. There must be some form of cardio you enjoy? ( A hint : Don't perform the cardio in the gym ).

    Cos gym cardio is more boring than for example mountain biking (my vice) or cross country running with a friend these brighten up the painfull chore that is cardio no end

    I too am not a cardio fan so I have taken to doing HIIT because it's over with quickly or if I am doing normal cardio then I try and do about 10 mins on 4 different m/cs so I dont get bored. It's not bad in our gym as there are tvs you can tune into but I tend to listen to some inspirational music. Punk is good for running to and some good dance beats for stepping/cross training keeps a good pace going.

    BECAUSE CARDIO IN THE GYM IS THE MOST BORING AND UNEVENTFUL PART OF MY LIFE.

    he means if the guy hates doing cardio on the treadmill/rower etc, go outside, find a mountain/river and enjoy ay one of the following activities that can be clased as acrdio


    climbing
    scrambling
    hiking/trakking
    trail running
    mountain biking
    kayaking
    rowing
    swimming

    other forms of cardio not in the gym include

    sports
    martial arts/boxing
    GPP [gebneral physical prepardness] - runa search for it f unfamiliar

    I have added an extra session of kickboxing in to my weekly routine instead of a gym cardio day, and iam feeling better I have losty a few extra lbs and my lifts are better, i think this is down to my flexiblity being improved by doing a proper stretching session before we start which I rarely doing when I go to the gym.
