Yea, the speadsheet and app gives you two options - novice and experienced.

I have classed myself as experienced.

My plan is to do this for a while and then move to 5/3/1 or RPE Method. But as I am in a calorie deficit at the moment I though stronglifts would be good as gives me 3 months to cut while the weights are not too massive (in 12 weeks squat will go to 152.5kg for 5)

I will have a good read of your log though buddy, thanks for the heads up.

Cheers RAD.

Today's session (10/01/2019)

Squat (65KG) 5x5
Bench (60KG) 5x5
Row (45KG) 5x5

Whilst I am on low weights I have been treating the bench and squat reps like you would at a meet - i.e static pause at the bottom of the bench and press and pause in between each rep for squat. Just to make it more interesting and also really drive home form.

Still, only had 60 seconds rest between sets so really quick session.

Yea, I plan to move onto either 5/3/1 or RPE after I have finished on Stronglifts. Really looking forward to going down this route as its the first time that I have followed a strength specific program.

I much prefer strength, since I switched to the lower rep stuff a few years I've been more hooked on my training than ever. I do like to add in some high rep stuff after my strength sets sometimes, but I could never focus purely on hypertophy now.

Yea, I have always been naturally strong, and have hit some good numbers in the past without any really structured strength training, I would like to get back to at least a 260KG Deadlift this year and 180KG Squat and build from there. I don't have a bench target (my least favorite) but need to set one as a goal.

Thanks buddy,

I think they should be achievable. I Pulled 220KG for one a on the 4rd of Jan and Squatted 160 for 2 (High Bar) so I think it can be done (I am switching to Low Bar). I know I need to work on my form still though, I think I am defiantly loosing performance there.

Apparently knitting is very good for relieving stress and anxiety so that could be a good idea for us all! Don't think scarves and woolly jumpers are often needed in Portugal though.

Today's workout:

Squat (70KG) 5x5
Bench Press (62.5KG) 5x5
Ben over Row (47.5KG) 5x5

Still easy. Getting used to squatting in flat soled shoes after I was using Olympic shoes.

Lol! Soon you will start adding the warmup sets and gassing inbetween work sets. You will easily double that time!

Why the switch in shoes? Did you not like the olympic shoes?

I did like them, but I have moved to Low bar, so trying to go with Flats. I got the Reebok Lite TR High Tops (which are meant to be amazing powerlifting shoes) Super stable platforms.

And I squat and deadlift in the same session so cant be bothered switching shoes to deadlift in.

It is easier as I have moved to low bar, I wouldnt have the ankle mobility to hit depth high bar with flats.

Today's little session:

Squat (72.5KG) 5x5
OHP: (35KG) 5x5
Deadlift (105KG) 1x5

Stuck on 20 mins on the watt bike at the end.

I have dropped from 111KG to 106.8KG since the 1st of Jan. Guessing a lot of that was water retention from all the xmas booze. but still a cheeky fewKG in a few weeks.

Decent weight loss though bud.

Can I ask what sort of gear you were on when you achieved your avatar? Had you been using long to get to that stage?

Hi buddy.

I hadn't been using for super long.

First cycles were M1T and Superdrol back when they were new (guessing 2007 ish)

I did a couple of sust (or test e) / deca cycles. They were pharma and my first ones.

Towards the end I was doing Tren A, Test Prop, HCG and Provion. This was my favorite stack and it hardened me out massively. Felt like a pin cushion though as i was jabbing every other day.

I lost a lot of my pictures as I got a good 20/25% bigger than my avatar picture. I looked back over old threads but can't find them 😕

I remember doing some test 400 (think it was wildcat labs) it felt like I had been shot in the backside for days!
