    Horrible way to go. Alzheimers I mean. Think I'd prefer to jump off a building than to slowly loose everything over the years and impinge on my family.

    I grew up on the first incarnation of Star Trek....quality stuff.
    85 is a good innings and with any luck i hope for the same old age as Doohan.

    My best memory of his is in Star Trek IV when he creates that new polywhateveritscalled of minimal thickness and sells it to that company.

    He creates the formula by first speaking into the computer's mouse and then types the formula in Notepad.

    It is sad news... hopefully he has gone somewhere better. Hes been immortalised forever on TV and film, so people wont forget him anytime soon... nice to know you wont be forgot...

    Yeah he had a kid 5 years ago when he was 80. He now leaves a 5 year old child fatherless. Don't understand the thinking behind that one TBH.
