Startin kickboxing

Thinking of joining a begginners kickboxing course that starts tomorrow. Checked out the place on the net and its a proper hardcore kickboxing gym, which im finding a bit intimidating (im a bit of a small girl, not strong at all)

Anybody here do any kickboxing and that can tell me what its like for a complete novice in this?

I did kickboxing when i was a teenager but dont anymore, but i know people who still do it and love it! I suppose its like when youre the newbie in any sport you will be intimidated for a little while, But there is always some good soul who will take you under thier wing and show you the ropes, Sound like a great thing to be doing to me great discipline and great exercise too, Good Luck Ankzz

I tried kickboxing, wasnt my thing. Then I tried Taekwondo; that was :D. 7 years later I'm teaching and training in taekwondo (itf) as well as weight lifting and I love it. tkd is my cardio, lifting my muscular endurance.

Kickboxing is great. Excellent cardio and perhaps a little more relaxed at times than the more traditional martial arts.

What do you mean a little more relaxed?

Kickboxing is excellent, alot better then many traditional MAs in terms of practical self defence IMO.
