'Starvation' mode....

Hi guys

As you may know im trying to cut as much body fat as possible. Iv been doing well, by taking care of diet and cardio.

I have 1 concern though. Some days i go without my regular meals, im aiming for 4-5 small meals a day, but due to work sometimes i may only have brekfast/1 meal @ 3-5pm and snacks in the form of fruit (apples/plums/peaches).

Now how do i stop my body going into starvation mode? Because sometimes i may get home late and not want to eat so im worried that i have gone through a whole day and my body has held onto its fat even after my cardio - Is this something to do with cortisol?

Thanks

    Not a pro here

but perhaps, lack of protein in the days you dont each so much are more of a concern than starvation mode, alot of people think starvation mode is a myth anyway

Perhaps, you coul drink some MRPS, or homemade ones with whey, oats and water/milk? throughout the day?

no no, starvation mode is no myth.  Put basicly your body values fat more than leamn tisssue unlike us vein westeners.

If you stuck on a desert isalnd with no food starvation mode will kick in and your body will turn muscle to energy source leaving the fat as a last reserve tank of energy.

So you can loose tons of 'weight' but little fat and lok a hell of a lot worse for it.

@ mann - isnt it possible to carry food around with you.  I carry a bag everywhere I go with tuna sandwiches  in wholegrain bread. Doddle to make, no excuse and highly portable. I just carry 3 of these sandwiches around around. Full of good grade proteins and slow releasing carbs.  Perfect.  Add in some ground flax seeds for some good fats too if need be.

By the way I doubt you will go into starvation mode by not eating for 5 hours or so.  It would have to be over a period where your cals were drastically lower than your expenditure.

Your main problem is your metabolism may slow down.  A little and often promote a fast metabolism.
