There's nothing like boxing, the fitness demand is nuts. I've done various martial arts over the years but boxing was by far the most demanding in terms of fitness. Did you enjoy it though? I love sparring.

I loved it mate felt like I needed to be on life support after that though lol but im sure once my weight drops and I keep hammering the sessions I should get better quickly.

Im doing it 3 x a week and each session is 1.5 hours along with a couple lifting sessions a week.

I really need to sort my conditioning out. Went for a powerwalk the other night with a colleague -only 20 mins and I was getting out of breath. Mind you the talking didn't help lol. Embarrassing.

Its surprising how bad it can get when you don't do it I knew after the first 10 minutes that I was going to struggle I just didn't realise how bad it was going to be.

SUNDAY - 02-DECEMBER-2018

CARDIO
4 mile steady state run.

The pace wasn't blistering but that's to be expected at 19 stone.  After that I had nothing left so upper got dropped for today.

That has got to be the longest I have run in years hopefully I can improve on this over the next couple of weeks.

Boxing tomorrow.

MONDAY - 03-DECEMBER-2018

Boxing for an hour tonight.

I still gas quite quickly and slow down after a few rounds.

Im going to stop strength training and focus on conditioning, im considering smashing out a few barbell complexes and more cardio.

Im thinking boxing will be my main focus and the rest of my training will be to assist that.

Iv done it for so long and hit some good numbers but with the amount of injuries iv had and keep getting its just started to make it feel more like a chore to lift.

This year especially my passion for lifting has really dwindled i have no real goals. Dont get me wrong ill still do a little something.

Im also hoping with the boxing i can bring my weight down there is no need for me to be sitting at 18-19 stone i would like to get to 16.5.

It's hard to balance strength work with fighting.  You certainly do not need as much strength as you do for strongman or powerlifting (obviously) but being strong is an advantage.  Getting more condition will help a lot and i think the barbell complexes are a good idea.  Check out Ross Training.  Ross is a boxing trainer and puts out very high quality material.  I recommend getting infinite intensity (if he still sells it) so cheap for  what you're getting.  Follow the 50 day program and you'll be a new man.

Cheers mate ill definitely check that out.

I agree its definitely hard to find that balance especially when 3 of my days are taken up by boxing thats why im thinking complexes might give me the best of both.

I definitely need to get some weight off everytime i throw a jab it feels like my biceps are going to pop off lol i need loads of stretching to loosen things off.

WEDNESDAY - 05-DECEMBER-2018
BOXING

10 minutes skipping
3 rounds of circuit training
5 rounds of bag work
4 rounds of pad work

I was shattered before I even started tonight so it took a little longer to get going and loosen off enough.

Im definitely getting fitter but I need to get faster, everytime I throw a punch I feel that my opponent is checking his watch to see what time its going to arrive lol.

LOL

As you get lighter that will change. I did a 100m race the other day at my sons school. First time in probably 10 years. I hit it as hard as I could and it just felt like my feet weren't 'touching' the ground as much as they should as I barrelled down the line. Then I realised I'm about 20kg heavier than the last time lol probably has something to do with it.

lol you don't notice the weight gain until it comes to something like that then you just feel awful.

I definitely hate feeling this heavy now.
