Steroid effect on non trainers?

I met a woman recently who I had not seen in a few years. She had put on quite few stones in weight. I didn't mention it but she said that she had suffered an injury and was on steroids and the side effect of this was that she had gained a lot of weight and she had been warned this would happen when she took them. I this the effect that steroids have on someone who does no training at all?

    Could she have meant cortico-steroids?

They can result in 'weight-gain' and increased appetite.

I have no idea to be honest. She simply referred to steroids and I wasn't too keen on pursuing it though it just made me wonder if her experience would be replicated with someone who sought to pack on muscle by using gear but did nothing in the way of training.

AKA theweeninjaguy.  8 st 2 lb when I joined this site, I’ve gained 7 stone since then. Homer stands behind me as a reminder that a normal 44 year olds body is constantly chasing me. The only difference between me and homer, is MT and the gym!
