Stomach bug after holiday ? what to do ?

Hi all, i got back from bulgaria on firday and have had serious diaroeeah (sp) for about 7 days.

It started out there but ive still got it now, with stomach cramps, its got a bit better, but today has been terrible,
when ever i eat im on the toilet an hour later..

i dont have a fever or anything i dont feel ill, just have serious bowel issues..
the stomach cramps have eased up alot today.

Ive had stomach bugs before where ive been sick and had the $hits at the same time, but even thats only lasted 2 days max.

help..

I think you just needed to ask.

Sorry, I digress. Hope you get well soon. Stomach bugs are nasty and really interfere with training.

yeah mate, if you have had diarrhoea for more than 2 or 3 days you should go see your doc. have you been vomiting too?
i know this is just common sense, but you need to keep your water intake really high, as you are just sh*tting it straight out.
also you can loose a lot of minerals and salts from d+v, your doc will probably give you a script for some dioralyte, possibly some buscopan to help with the stomach cramps.

calm down, its life, mate, its only a game

i havent been vomiting at all, i feel fine, no sickness, no unwell feeling just diarrhoea a short while after eating.

Ive been drinking alot, but ive also been eating as normal, which may be adding to the problem.

Usually i would have done the old dont eat for 24 hours but as everyone usually gets a dodgey stomach on holiday and it usually clears on return home i never conciderd it.

tbh your gp/the nurse practitioner will prbably tell you to fast for a day to give your digestive tract a break. if the diarrhoea is caused by something you ate/drank on holiday rather than  a bug you picked up this usually does the trick.
however, if it was something you ate/drank i wouldnt have thought it would last longer than a few days. but then a bug usually would come with vomiting and stomach cramps aswell. hmmmmmm....

Ok saw a doc, he said its a travel bug or something, keep eating as normal with plenty of fluids.

he has priscribed me co-dydramol which he said will stop the cramps and diarroeah.

if i still got it friday i gotta go to the docs again..
