Stubborn belly fat - forget about ever losing it?

Getting back into it (lost nearly 3 stone of blubber) and looking good / training well.  But there's belly fat that I don't know if I'll ever lose. Other parts of the body are looking pretty lean though - even to the point of looking almost too vascular in places.

Don't know whether to carry on cardio and diet with the hope of losing the belly fat - or whether this will just never go and I'll end up looking ragged.

Should I just even out and focus on the lifting and maintaining bf levels?

Then there's nolva - considering whether maybe I need to try some as there are limited sides for a guy in my position and just in case oestrogen build up may be contributing to the difficulty dropping belly fat??

Any views either way?
Thanks,
M

    How old are you?
Fat is stored in the centre of the body outward.  This becomes more pronounced as you get older.  You can always get rid of it, but it means dropping your weight further with the potential of looking ragged as you say (the sunken eye socket look of most middle aged triathletes).

I'm very late 40s mate. But fit - resting hr of 44, great VO2 max etc. Calves and legs look thick and defined but vascular and sinuous - and would look like something off of The Walkong Dead if they lost anything else while I wait for me belly!

increased aromatase activity, cortisol, insulin resistance. lower test, lower GH all contribute to middle aged spread.
i wouldn't just willy-nilly take a drug (that does have side effects) like nolvadex (and even then an AI is better as it reduces aromatase activity, which is the root of all estrogen).

get a decent blood panel to see what state your endocrine is at first if you are planning to chemically alter it.
(T2, LH, FSH, Cortisol, E2, prolactin etc)
