Stuck with moms food

Hey my diet just varies from day to day depending on what mom cooks, i try to eat more of it and hope for the best.

Any snacks / in-between meals that are good for mixing with my moms meals?

I can chose my own breakfast and maybe 1 meal before i sleep. Any tips?

Just eat as much food and lean quality protein as you can.

    Lean beef
    Tined fish like tuna
cheap eggs box of 15 for about 1.50

bag of Oats, cheap as chips
    rice
    potatoes

    Nuts
    oily fish
    Olive oil

For breakfast eat eggs and a bowl of oats

Whats your goals mate are you trying to bulk up.

Do whatever you want with them as long as you cook them.

Go for 4 whole egg and 100g of oats in whole milk or whatever milk is there.

In fact thats a good one for you. If you have little or no say about who calls all the shots in the house, drink a pint of milk with every meal.

All is not lost mate, i was in this situation last year and may have to go back to it soon Try and get your mum to cook healthier (protein rich) foods. If you're not going to meet protein reqs from the food invest in some protein powder for the extra protein and cals.

    1. Go food shopping with her and pick up bits and bobs.

    2. Get a job and buy your own food.

Your mom must only cook one meal a day and that must be dinner.

The rest of the meals you can make yourself.

    Breakfast = oats, eggs, milk

Mid morning = make a shake...add oats into it

lunch = tuna and wholemeal bread , salad, fruit

    Dinner =??????

8pm-ish = tuna and wholemeal bread , salad, fruit

Before bed = cottage cheese and wholemeal bread toasted

The above is just an example...but i hope you get the idea

Muscle - I am going to try this. Just to confirm, thats 4 scrambled eggs (I assume scrambled - what's the advantage of them being cooked?) in 100g of oats and some milk, then shake or blend the mixture?

Sounds absolutely disgusting but I am open minded. Although to make a diet work (IMO) for an individual I believe it has to be palatable and not a chore to try and consume.

No...i dont think he meant mix the lot.

I personally have 5 egg whites and 1 yolk...either fried (with virgin oil) or scrambled then eat that.

Then i blend up 100g oats with 2 scoops whey and peanut butter or Flax seed oil (for healthy fats) and drink it.

Like Hen7 said I didn't mean mix the lot mate. Eat the eggs then eat the oats in milk. That was just an example for the guy who lives with his mums cooking, but its still a good breakfast. The down side to it, is its a little low in protein so have a shake after the oats as well.

The advantage of eggs being cooked is that they get used better.

Go to calorie king website and just check the amounts of protein/carbs/fat in food to help you find out how much you need to eat of each.

    1-1.5g protein per lb bodyweight
Carbs - I dont know what your aiming for
Fats - Perhaps 0.3g-0.5g per lb bodyweight (Although I got this weight from bodybuilding.com, not sure if 100% accurate)

Good ways to stick to protein is just eat lean meat or fish and each main meal consisting for about 40g protein. So say for example 4 meals, thats 160g already, protein shakes, 3 of those at about 25g each shake is 75g, so already 235g protein for the day.

Like I said, I dont know what your aim or weight is but Im just trying to generally help. Hope it helps.

    It's not bad tho.

    Have 4-5 whole eggs

I guess one tin of tuna so 100g

Have a pint of whole milk with say 4 different meals

Someone could grow on that. Its still possible.
