It's bloody hard and I'm really thirsty, 3 litres a day is easy on this diet.

I followed the Dave Palumbo diet for a 200lb male but dropped volumes, especially the protein just a little and upped the fats (I am only 180lbs and train 3 - 4 times a week). I was worried there was too much protein in there for my level of activity.

I am normally pretty low on my carbs, around 50-60g on a non training day and around 90g on a training day but I cannot shift the fat around my stomach, so I thought I would have a go as I am on vacation for the rest of December so I could be really strict with my diet without fitting my eating around work.

My plan that I following is below (I am around 25-26%BF) and would just like to shift as much of it as possible but have no intention of getting to sub 10%, I just want to look good.

Any feedback would be great James and if this does not work, I'll be coming to see you for a James Collier nutrition plan.

I lost 10 kilo s at 2lb a week on that diet and got down to 76kg with no hunger or craving for carbs and almost felt guilty eating them once every 2 weeks...

Only downside was a bit of kidney pain letting me know I had to drink more, a lot more than 3 litres .

Belly fat was the last to start to come off !!

I aim for 4 litres a day minimum... But check your electrolyte intake too, I find I need to increase mine when going keto style.

Isn't that too much protein for keto? And the fats are too low? Generally, ketosis should be high fat, moderate protein. That might be a reason why you feel like ****.
Or do you have to hit those 1700 kcals? Seems to be very low for a 180lb guy..

I can't speak from my personal experience, because when I was in ketosis I didn't track my numbers.. but I would up the fat personally.

Also I was wondering, what happens if you reach the goal? If you start to add the carbs (and calories) back in, wouldn't you start to gain the weight again? Would you have to slowly reverse diet back up? (this is not a specific question for you, but a general one about extreme dieting)

It's based on the DP keto diet, I didn't get on with it so switched to the pro fat one below. As for regaining weight, it depends on if you're going to go for growth which you can do on keto or you could add carbs back in slowly.

You can do keto as a pro fat or pro protein diet.

Here is my pro fat one that I'm currently on.

Hi mate

That looks ok; but it's all about results.  It's been a few weeks now?  How are the results?

At first the weight fell off but from what I can tell that was just water and after I stopped getting so thirsty I put it back on to start with.

I've now dropped around 4lbs but amazingly all my lifts have got stronger which I'm shocked about. I've been training 4 times a week and doing around 30 to 45 mins cardio after my sets.

My waist is around an inch and a half thinner and I've not lost any muscle mass from my arms or legs. I guess it's better to lose it slightly slower and keep the muscle than drop too fast.

I have lowered my calls a little and am on around 1800 a day, so will see how I get on with both hunger and strength in the gym this week.

Thanks for checking back.
