Sus injection. Did I do something wrong?

I've done my first ever injection.
It was easy an painless, but after about 12 hours, the swelling started and the pain too!
For the next two days I could hardly walk. It's getting better now ( 3 days later ) but still very painful.
After losts of research, these are the steps I took:
Location, thigh: http://www.spotinjections.com/index3.htm
Used two 23 needles. One to load and another to inject.
Remove any air from syringe.
Warm-up the oil to flow easier.
Clean the site with swab.
Strech the skeen and insert the needle (1 inch) all the way, but 2-3 millimeters.
Aspirate and found no blood.
Injected very slow (total time, about 40 sec).
Removed the needle, clean the site and massage for a couple of minutes. Went to gym and cycled for 30 min.
After about 12 hours, from the injection site down to the knee, it started swelling and the pain set in.
What did I do wrong?

Thanx!

I ust did my 1st shot on Friday night, went well, no pain until saturday afternoon but nothing too extreme.....

i also used a 1.5" to draw and 1" to inject, but i've hardly got any BF around my glutes....

maybe you needed a longer 1.5" to inject to get right into the muscle?? if not the juice may not have got to your muscle, but will dissolve in eventually.........

often when you inject a muscle for the first time (or the first time after a long break) it will be very sore after - usually this passes after you've done a couple or three shots in the same area

the soreness that sets in a day or so after the shot is often the gear crystallising out in the muscle (those little steroid crystals are sharp!), which seems to happen particularly often with high dose gear, and with gear than contains test prop (such as sustanon)

some people get a much more immediate soreness (starting in the hours after the inject) - which is more likely to result from not having a steady hand while injecting, or a sensitivity to the BA (benzyl alcohol) used as a solvent in most gear

    Thanx guys!

Being the first time, I didn't know what to expect. And I was thinking that maybe I aspirated too much. That 'cause I can't find anything else that I may have done wrong!
So, from what you guys are saying, "no pain no gain" :-)
I'll see next week, when I do the other thigh.
The problem is, I can't do legs while this pain doesn't go away :-(

    Thanx!

I tried warming the oil up in the past and had bad shots that way, not saying thats the cause - just happened to me. Any one else had bad shots with warm oil! I put in cold all the time now.
