Sweetener Free Whey Powder

Can anyone recommend a sweetner free whey powder to me?

It must contain no Aspartame, sucralose, Acesulfame K etc.

Thanks in advance, im tearing my hair out on google trawling sites to find that almost all of them contains some chemical cancer inducing chemicals of some kind.

So, you are happy to drink whey which desn't have anything to sweeten it? Why not just get unflavoured whey then? It's cheap and there are plenty of suppliers to choose from.

Absolutely, ill mix it with fresh fruit to give flavour. Im a recovering Aspartame addict, and am trying to cut all traces of artificial sweetener out of my life as i dont want cancer prematurely. I cant believe companies can get away with infecting these products with unsafe chemicals, they might as well add sugar its nowhere near as harmful.

deako think you over reacting a bit to the whole cancer thing (you may have reason to ?) but gennerally everything give or helps promote cancer in some bloody way, just limit it. if you continue on the stressfull journey your on that WILL cause cancer (as stress does!) see damm vicous circle

Hehe, i' m not over reacting at all. Have you read the studies into prolonged Aspartame use? Ive just got off a 3 litres a day diet coke habbit, and ive had the worst headaches from aspartame withdrawal. Knowing the effects it can have: Concentration, mood swings, vision; and also looking into the more serious effects it can eventually have: multiple sclerosis, brain tumours, organ failure. I really want anything containing the stuff out my diet.

The only reason its not a banned substance is because its worth billions to the dieting industry in the USA, even worldwide.

So what im looking for is a good reputable Whey powder that contains no artificial sweeteners.

Here are some interesting Aspartame pages:-

You only need to search google with the words "Aspartame Poisoning" to see.

Most Protein powders are free from Aspartame now anyway. I have not read anything about the other sweetners casusing cancer. Surely sucralose and Acesulfame K are fine or are they anyone?

your first mistake was drinking 3litres of diet coke a day, tht is just damaging to your health. mate also a think your jumping on a band wagon from the articles you ave given it is only independent firms that support this and what they are saying is IF you ave a exessive amount of aspartame it can be damaging to your health and what were you doing drinking 3litres of coke a day that would be excessive in my eyes. also the fda ave found nothing as yet. but back to your original question just by unflavoured whey if you really are that worried.

are you sure the headaches were not the withdrawal of caffeine. The caffeine in 3L of diet coke is a lot and I would suspect that was your problem. withdrawal of caffeine often results in headaches.

where are the aspartame studies that shows it causes cancer, I'd be interested to see them.

From the book SAFE FOOD by Michael F. Jacobson, Ph.D, Lisa Lefferts and Anne Garland

"Acesulfame K, sold commercially as Sunette or Sweet One, was approved by the FDA in 1988 as a sugar substitute in packet or tablet form, in chewing gum, dry mixes for beverages, instant coffee and tea, gelatin desserts, puddings and nondairy creamers. The manufacturer has asked the FDA to approve acesulfame K for soft drinks and baked goods.

The public is waiting for an artificial sweetener that is unquestionably safe. But this one isn't it. Even compared to aspartame and saccharin (which are afflicted with their own safety publems - see below), acesulfame K is the worst. The additive is inadequately tested, the FDA based its approval on tests of acesulfame K that fell short of the FDA's own standards. But even those tests indicate that the additive causes cancer in animals, which means it may increase cancer risk in humans. In l987, CSPI urged the FDA not to approve acesulfame K, but was ignored. After the FDA gave the chemical its blessing, CSPI urged that iat be banned. The FDA hasn't yet ruled on that request."

    From CSPI's web page:

... acetoacetamide, a breakdown product, has been shown to affect the thyroid in rats, rabbits, and dogs. Administration of 1% and 5% acetoacetamide in the diet for three months caused benign thyroid tumors in rats. The rapid appearance of tumors raises serious questions about the chemicalÕs carcinogenic potency."

Im just going by what ive read and trying to cut out unnecessary toxins and sweeteners from my diet. Maybe im over reacting, but ive been stuck with a massive habbit of soft drinks daily. However, apart from the headaches i havent craved to drink the same drinks again, so cant have been addicted.

Deako - i think you are a victim of scaremongering here mate. All aspartame is is the dipedpide of aspartic acid and phenyl aniline - i.e the two AA's joined together. The only thing wrong with it is that it can break down into tiny quantities of methanol in your body - but no more so than is found in the metabolites of orange juice. There is no way it can be carcinogenic.
