Chest + Shoulders - doms in legs, will do back+ bi's tomoro

Flat Bench

62kg 2x5 1x3 1x2

Not impressed with these. Just not making enough progress i dont think.
Gunna knock down to 57kg and work from there.

Dips

5x5

Time for a dipping belt me thinks....

Standing DB

14kg 3x5 2x3

Grip Work;
Pinch Grip 2 x 5kg 15-20secs
2 x 7.5kg 5-7secs

My plates are thinner i think...not oly plates.

Plate Curls 3x8 5kg

Not a bad workout but need to address the bench problem-its always been the bane of my training. 6/10

Looks good mate. Supps are better than nothing if you don't have time to eat real food. Looks like your getting a good amount of protein during the day.

Are you bulking mate? I can't remember...

If so, get some flax seed oil in that shake before bed, or better still a serve of oily fish.

i suppose you could say i was bulking. got 2 bottles of flax oil still, stopped taking it after a while, but maybe i should start taking it again-just worried about the calories mate-the PB and nuts ive ben eating up the fat a fair bit.

Training-complicated today

Deadlifts

1x5 105kg
4x5 95kg

Could have managed 105kg just but p.e. teacher wanted me to go easy...lol
Was helping him teach a weight lifting class so had to finish my workout when i got home :(

Close Grip Chins

1x5
1x4
1x4
1x4
1x3

Grip just gave way, knackered after deads.

Barbell Curls

1x5 27kg
1x5 27kg
1x5 30kg
1x3 30kg
1x3 30kg

Again no energy..might have ben better leaving it with just the deads today. 6.5/10

Diet.bit sketchy

9.30am whey in water

9.45am 2 slices granary toast
peanut butter
skimmed milk

11.30am bigfella protein bar

training

12.50pm 1.5 scoops whey
10g glucose

1.10pm 2 wholemeal baps
120g chicken breast
100g cashew nuts (OUCH!)
2 bananas

3.00pm whey in milk

training....

5.00pm orange juice-ok this should have been a protein shake but the juice should hit the cortisol and i couldnt manage another shake.

6.00pm Pasta and Chicken (150g)

I think 4 miles is more than adequate to be honest unless you are getting fit for a sport that requires you to run long distances.

Have you read Dino Training yet? What do you think of it?

Boxer thanks mate; im training for a 7 mile run on boxing day at the moment or else it wouldnt have been any longer.

Yeah ive read it, thought it was a good read. In the process of "acquiring" a scaffolding pole and some oly plates at the moment, and will evantually incorporate some thick grip bar work into my routine.

I was especially impressed with the sectionms which focused on the mental aspects of training.

Just a little update for you; i am ill some flu has been going round recently, so im feeling pretty ****e to be honest and very de-motivated as i just felt i was starting to make some good progress.

Never mind.

It has been a chance to reflect on a few aspects of my training; i have decided on a few alterations;

Less Dietary Supplementation - Keep whey to an absolute minimum, i.e. post workout and for the rest of the day including morning have good balanced meals with plenty of protein instead.

Keep the Diet Tight - Lots of cheat meals recently, keep the diet tight with only a few cheat snacks and meals each week, can sometimes be alot harder though with junk addict friends.

Increase Motivation - Several friends have displayed an interest in working out with me. I am working on incorporating them into my workout regime, evantually into the 5x5 system like i am now. Working out with a partner really motivates me.

Goals - I havent really had any goals recently and i feel i need to have reachable objectives. I plan to have my bodyfat measures and weigh myself regularly. I would like to see a 150kg Deadlift, 120kg Squat and a 100kg Bench by next summer/autumn as well. Obviously these goals may need some finetuning and re-adjusting but i think they are just about reachable. Short-term goals will be applied as necessary on these areas.

good stuff mate. I too think that having a training partner would definitely help, but there's no one around who trains like i do. Once in a while i train with my mates and it's a different attitude alltogether, we edge eachothers on and make sure we give 100%. Most of the time I can do that on my own as well, but on those odd days having a training partner would definitely make a difference.

Also, good one on the goals. Have some shorter aim goals as well, for instance goals to reach by next march.

Keep it up mate!
