Good stuff mate. How long do you follow 1800 for? Just in the week and have the weekend off?

Do you look at specific macro targets?

Thanks mate.

I usually do IF as clean as possible from Mon through to Friday and eat normally at the weekend with the calories bumped up.

I've never got into the whole Macro stuff to be honest. I can't seem to find the time to be that thorough with it.

I have a lot of respect for you mate, nailing 1800 calories daily would break me. I'm eating 2500 a day and feel like I've not eaten for years. You're nailing big sessions too, absolute hero!

I was thinking the exact same!

Great effort to hit big session on small cals!

Thanks dude. It's going well so far, when a lack of energy starts to become noticeable I can always adjust the intake.

Very good session this morning. Flew out of bed at 05:30, dosed up and went it.

TRAPBAR DEADLIFTS: 5 x 60
                                 5 x 80
                                 5 x 100 x 5
                                 1 x 110
                                 1 x 120
                                 1 x 130
                                 1 x 140

Loving these, or more importantly my lower back is loving these. 140 is the heaviest I've gone since before my surgery and it lifted with complete ease. Definitely loads more there. I'll increase the working 5x5 sets by 5kgs next time and push on.

SLDL: 5 x 70kgs x 5

No problems, will increase by 5kgs next session.

LOW ROW: 5 x 10 plates x 10 sets

All strict reps, will increase by another plate next time.

SQUAT: 2 x 50 x 5

The very humble beginnings of squatting again, didn't want to do too much as I want my legs as fresh as possible for the rest of the week. I shall increase by another rep each session until 5x5 is complete and then push on and stick more weight on the bar.

MILITARY PRESS: 5 x 45 x 5
                           1 x 47.50
                           1 x 50
                           1 x 52.5
                           1 x 55
                           1 x 57.5

Arms were still sore from Sunday, but the 57.5 was very smooth. Definite feeling of strength returning with this.

The return to deadlifting and squatting is a great feeling, getting back to really working the whole body will do wonders with the weight loss as well as building the strength back up to a reasonable level.

That was it as ran out of time. Next session is on Thursday as my wife is on nights tonight.

FOOD:

70gr Oats with SS MILK
Chicken Breast and Salad Sandwich with mustard and light mayo
2 Boiled Eggs
Salmon Fillet with Baked Potato and Coleslaw
4 Eggs Scrambled.

Back on squats can only be a good thing... Until the doms set in!

What kind of split do you follow mate?

Squat 220kg(3) - Bench 200Kg - Deadlift 250kg - Strict Press 130kg - Push Press 140kg

You know it mate!!!

Hopefully keeping the reps and weight low for a couple of weeks will lessen the impact a degree. My back is in bits already, foam rolling and a hot bath later I reckon.

I'll eventually be just doing Deads, Squat, & Bench/Pressing sessions + accompanying accessories for each mate. I like to keep things simple and just lift.

I have actually fallen back in love with lifting. After all the post surgery doldrums it is good to back shifting some iron again.

Nice one mate.  Good to see you are taking a sensible approach to squatting.  The trap bar work looks good and i think it will keep your pulls and squats in order too.  Good stuff.

Cheers Kev. Keeping it as sensible as possible mate, I don't want to over-stretch anything and end up crocked again. Steady as she goes now.
