Nice work mate. Unlucky on the deadstop press. Next time.

Come to think of it, even though I wear wraps for bench, I've never worn them for OHP, never felt the need. Might be worth giving them a try to see if they give me a few more kg's.

Thanks, Next time for sure mate.

Give them a go, that little extra bit of stability certainly helps with confidence.

Yep especially for max lifts but try only use them for top sets. reliance on them will make you weak!

Strong pressing mate. Are you not wearing wraps for pressing or was this a one off?

I wear wraps for my heavy sets of bench/OH press. Find it gives good support and a bit of a mental comfort blanket as well when going heavier

**** nights sleep. A house in the close got burgled the other night, poor woman was alone with her 5yo and they broke in while she was in bed. Last night I heard what I thought was someone vault a neighbours fence, my dog bolted up and was alert to it so that put me on edge and spent the next 2 hours 'on guard'. Adreniline was surging, and was alert to evey sound. I think it was just a cat jumping on our metal BBQ, but considering what had happened it definately makes you on edge.

Woke up and the hip is en-route to being an absolute bastard again, dropped a tramadol and will try and ride it out. Training tonight, back on program.

Im exactly the same.. if I hear a noise I’m usually fine but if the dog gets worked up I can’t skeep for sh!t! I’ve been out in the street in my pants and Vader slippers clutching a Zulu fighting stick with an agitated bullmastiff on a chain .. . like I’m some kind of mental neighbourhood watch lol

hahaha what a fearsome sight!!!

We were burgled just before our eldest was born 11 years ago and that was a huge factor in my sleep issues. Took me years to get over it. I always have a hammer under the bed now, and wouldn't hesitate in beating someone to death if they broke in.

I pity the fvcker that breaks in and finds my wife snoring on the sofa, in the dark he'd probably think we have some kind of prehistoric ape guarding the living room

Appreciated mate. Loads more to come, training is flying along nicely now.

Still waking with every noise tbh, but that will hopefully pass.

You're probably heard those noise hundreds of time before and they've never bothered you.  In a a few weeks they'll become normal again and you won't even notice them.  It's like sleeping somewhere new, every noise wakes you because you are not used to them .

Yes mate, totally agree.

It all comes from being burgled previously, that took me years to settle again. My biggest fear is for the family, and making sure of their safety if it happened, so I have a mental plan of what to do, which kicks in subconciously and has just been amplified with these break-ins, especially as they did it with the people actually in bed. I'm probably being over protective, and over thinking it, but I suppose that's our job as a Dad/Husband.

I hear that!  I don't really see this as a bad thing, it's not irrational after all.  It's surely disruptive but will settle back over time.

It's one of the reason I keep a broom upstairs.  Getting passed the stair gate and me with a broom would be tricky to say the least.  I have reach, high ground and you are encumbered.   It would pretty much take a gun or multiple attackers to give me a problem.
