THINKING OF DOING MY FIRST CYCLE *** OR DONT DO IT!


Hi guys,

I have been thinking about doing my first cycle ever, but then I was reading some of the posts in PROMETHEUS thread and it made me wonder if I was doing the right thing or not? so below you will find my situation please feel free to offer any advice! Thanks.


About 8 months ago my diet went to **** and my workouts came down to about once a week ( do to getting married and that hole part of life if you know what I mean) and thats the way it has been for the last 8 months. but now that we are settled I want to really get back into it. but I dont want it to take a nother two years to get back to just being O.K. looking (MUSCLE WISE). when I first got into training about 4 years ago I came on these boards right here and some guys helped me out with setting up a good workout plan. well to make a long story short I followed what the told me diet wise and workout wise and it took me a year and a half to get some results that I could actually notice. but my problem was I could'ent put on any real size. so then I talked to some other peaple and they told me that I would'ent really put on any size unless I did a couple of cycles! becouse they told me since my muscles are so long it will be twice as hard for me to get results like that, then it was all down hill from their.
About a year ago before my workouts went to crap I was about 220 pounds and about 12 % body fat. now I'm 6 ft 5inches tall and about 240 pounds with probably 16 % or more body fat. I could be wrong on the body fat becouse I dont have a huge gute or any thing like that but I cant see the outline of my upper abs any more. but I do have a little roll at the bottom! and the thing is I dont want to spend a nother year or two in the gym just to get back to were I was becouse I was not even that great then. I WANT TO GET SOME SIZE ON ME! my arms have always been around 14 inches or so and I really want to try to get to 15 or 16 if it is possible?

I have ben reading a lot of MICK HARTS books about cycles and other thing and I have been thinking about going that route! I like the book about his son and the cycles he did and before he started he was about my size and now he has gotten some real nice results in less then a year.

So any feed back that anyone can offer would really be a big help! and if their is any other information that I can give to help you better help me please let me know.

    How old are you mate and what did your diet look like and give me a rough percentage of how well you stuck with your diet.

    All the things I say are what I have done and what I have found instead of what i have read.

    I'm 23 years old and my diet before was 6 meals a day (3 of them being protein shakes-high protein low carbs) -100% oatmeal with a bannana
    -protein shake
    -chicken breast grilled with brown rice or veggies
    -protein shake
    - chicken breast grilled with brown rice or veggies
    -protein shake

    * I also subed in fish once or twice a week for one meal
    * I also had stack once or twice a week for one meal as well just to mix it up a bit

    also the last shake was right before I went to bed and if I was hungry throughout the day I had little healthy snacks.

    hi m8 i feel your pain, im 6ft4 tall and have found it very hard to put size on as i started very narrow shouldered and no shape, i have been training around 3.5yrs and i have done 2 steroid cycles 1st one test enanthate 500mg per week that gave me some good mass but seriously bad acne, my next cycle was sustanon 500mg per week which has gone well no acne, my arms are now 16.4" and cos im so tall and there not cut still dont look nothing much, imo to look big at your height and my height is gonna take some seriouse mass to be slabbed on.

    my next cycle sust 500mg per week and deca at 400per week.

    mate u are not eating no where near enough food, u wanna b aiming for something more like this.

    9:00 am whey in water 5gram glutamine 5grams 34grams protein

    9:45 am 10 eggs thats 2 yolk the rest whites 2 bits wholmeal toast, 46grams protein

    11:00 am bowl of oats with 300ml skimmed milk 12grams protein 1000mg vit c tab

    11:40 n0 xplode pre workout drink

    12:00 training

    1:30 post workout whey in water 50grams dextrose and 1 large banana 5gams l glutamine. 34grams protein

    2:15 large chicken breast, veg, baked potatoe with cottage cheese 1000mg vit c 500mg calciam tab 40grams protien 2 flax seed caps large glass of pure juice

    4:15 1 and a half tins tuna fish mixed with salad and 80grams pasta olive oil with mayo, and muller yogurt 40grams protien

    7:00pm large chicken breast mixed with veg and 1 handfull hazlenuts and 1 apple 40gram protien

    9:30 leen beef rump steak with chopped onions 2flax seed caps and plum tomatoes 1 slice wholemeal bread 35grams protien

    12:00 46grams protein shake,5rams glutamine handfull nuts and 2 spoons cottage cheese

    protein 332grams carbs around 310 fats around 70grams

    also at least 3 litres water a day also i have some fruit in between

    and chuck in some raisens and stuff between meals to bump the calories even more

    your in that apademic im in u need the mass cos your tall but dont wanna cut cos u dont wanna b tall and thin, only thing i can suggest is that if your happy with the body fat u r at and your gut aint realy bulking out, then yea maybe consider doing it, but if i was u y dont u spend a few months with a sorted diet and train natrualy but i mean train HARD and u may b happy with staying natrual for a while, or then if u do choose to do a cycle u at least have a proper training routine and structured diet.

    tall and thin eh? im 6'5" and ive been 11.5 stone at this height when i was like 15 i consider myself an extreme ectomorph, i managed to get to just over 16 stone naturally before a couple of cycles and now im sitting at 18.6stone 9%bf

    whether you decide to juice or not you gotta eat and you gotta train with intensity, i found for me it doesnt really matter whether i use light or heavy weights as long as i go at it hard in the gym and get enough rest and food

    forget about shakes and get some quality foods inside you every couple of hours

    Rossatron, how long did it take you to get to 18.6 stone?

    about 16 years im 27

    typically while bulking ill eat something like this


    07:00 whey in water

    07:30 10 egg whites 2 yolks scrambled on 2 slices toast with oats and skimmed milk, fruit juice

    10:00 300g chicken breast with 100g rice, mixed veg, sometimes pasta, sometimes in a wholemeal pita with salad and mayo, i eat this meal 4 times throughout the day and make em all in bulk the night before

    12:30 same as 10:00

    14:00 same as 10:00

    17:00 same as 10:00

    18:00 train

    19:00 80g maltodextrin 20g glucose 10g creatine whey in water

    19:30 some sort of meat with potatos or chilli con carne or fish with pasta (something normalish with my girlfriend)

    22:30 sweet potato with cottage cheese

    i dont really eat a lot of fat while bulking cos it kills my appetite, when i cut my diet is pretty similar but i eat less carbs more fats, protein stays about the same

    i throw in a couple of cheat meals a week too (usually pizza) cos i feel i can get away with it and i snack on nuts (unsalted) and fruit randomly

    What is a typical week for you -workout wise? do you do a 3 day split or two on one off? and what body parts do you work on what days?

    atm im doing a 4 day split, i need a day to recover after the big muscle groups, friday and sunday i play sports so i guess you could count those as cardio days not actual days off

    mon - shoulders and triceps
    tue - legs and calves
    wed - off
    thu - back and traps
    fri - off
    sat - chest and biceps
    sun - off

    i do 18-21 sets per workout all in the 12ish rep range

    Probably burning A WHOLE LOT of calories on those sports days. Youre a big guy and you will need more calories than most anyways. Might be something to look at if you want size. Im 6'2 and if I play a lot of sports, no way am I putting on any size.

    At his height I would proberly think you will need about 400-500g of carbs to bulk well.

    I'm almost 6'6 and really stuggle to gain weight, currently weighing just shy of 15st but was about 11.5st when I first started training. Eating, eating and eating some more I started to grow. But have now started to dabble in the steriod game in the hope that I get the body that I'm looking for....

    agree with others you soo need to eat more! im the same hight as you mate but im 18. i started off at 16 at 6foot 2 and was 9 stone now im 18 im 6foot 4 and am 14.5 stone. im literaly eating non stop all day and im not even kiding.

    just a quick write up of wot i eat roughly in a day:-

    2 apples
    4 protein shakes
    2 bannans
    300 grams of oats
    300 grmas of chicken
    200 grams of brown rice
    4 slice's of bread
    loads of mixed salad and veg
    1 can of chuna
    1 pot of cottage cheese
    2 flapjacks
    1 slice of cake
    60grams of moosely
    12 15 egg whites
    crandbury juice or orange (fresh)
    about 4 liters of water intake
    2 cups of green tea
