TRAINING WITH PCOS HELP !!!!

Hoping there is someone out there who can give me some advice. I have PCOS and have been training solid for the past year as my aim to to compete in Bikini.
I was  diagnosed with PCOS over 5 years ago and struggled weight wise. I had my thyroid tested which came back as 'normal'.
I got into bodybuilding training over a year ago and found whilst training and clean eating I dropped weight quite quickly with the help of Chesteze which contains Ephedrine, however I have recently been sticking to my routine without the use of Chesteze and have seen my weight slowly increase.
I eat a very low carb high protein diet, I train twice a day (am HIIT and pm cardio & weights).
I am getting so down and frustrated as I need advice as to what will help me lean up, get stage fit and help with my diet and training. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Someone had mentioned T3's....but need to know more about these.

Hi!

Have you been tested for your other hormone levels? PCOS has often been associated with the so called Syndrome X aka Metabolic Syndrome and it would be worth having blood insulin levels checked as well as thyroid function.

Thanks for your input James. Off to see my GP this week for my thyroid re-tested. I'll DEFO mention the insulin tests etc as I want to find out if this is effecting my results or lack of!
Thanks again ūüíč

OK, keep me posted.  PCOS can be present without the other symptoms, but it's far from uncommon for them to be present together.

Hi there,
I don't have any experience or knowledge in the subject but do listen to www.fitterlondon.co.uk podcasts and they offer a plan on overcoming/managing the condition - http://store.fitterlondon.co.uk/pcos-elimination-plan-date-to-be-announced/

Their podcasts are on iTunes and worth a listen, I really like their approach and attitude.

I don't have any affiliation or anything so hope I haven't broken any rules.

All the best with this and good luck.

I once had a client who had PCOS. I was gutted for her as she had to do twice as much work, and reap little reward so I feel for you. Eventually, I let her go as I wasn't qualified for medical conditions and felt someone else hopefully could help her better.
Best of luck

Hi James, thought i'd let you know that my bloods came back again as 'normal'! so frustrated!!
I've been using an online trainer (before xmas) and he has sort of lost inters now even though he said he'd train me for a bikini comp that I was interested in. Anyway, he mentioned T3's.... what are you thoughts if any about these? I've never tried them and after reading up i'm a bit frightened that it could make my condition worse.

You don't need T3s to prepare for bikini class, nor clen, nor anything else anyone might suggest.

All you need is a good diet, good training and if using a coach a good one of those. It makes me shudder when I hear of competitors using unnecessary things that come with long term consequences.

If you are on meds for your PCOS be very careful if even 'thinking' about taking things.

When you have problems with thyroid function, you'll be reliant on such fat burners forever once you start taking them.

Omg reading this has made me feel so much better I have PCOS and train with my friend who sees much better results than me leaness etc! I had no idea it could be partly due to my PCOS as I eat pretty clean n train hard. I used to take ephedrine but don't think I could handle the jitters now haha what's this Chesteze all about??
