Tendinitis

Not sure which thread to put this in but.. im really struggling with what is I presume tennis elbow /tendinitis. Causing me a lot of pain. Gradually got worse now over a six week period. Seems to have settled in my foreman and elbow. I haven't rested in completely to been honest just dropped some of the specificly painful movements. I know I need to stop completely and rest it. I have always struggled with this though. Being an ectomorph I feel like im wasting away! Has anyone had any experience with this type of injury? I was thinking of just doing legs three times a week and light cardio whilst keeping cals on maintenance. Any views?

What exercises trigger it? High dose omega 3 seemed to help mine somewhat.

Do you train your forearm extensors? You have likely got some inbalance / tight muscles in the forearm.. Have a look at this:

Also, these are recommended. A lot of elbow problems can be cleared up with these. We tend to do a lot of gripping exercises with weights which trains the forearms flexors but not the extensors. They end up weak in comparison creating inbalance.

I have used these and they are good. Good luck.

Thanks mate. I have started doing those movements now with a 2kg weight in the gym before training legs or cardio. I may try to use my pound charity band though instead of paying 20 quid from amazon... I am from Yorkshire haha

If you haven't already, try taking a weak off from training and see if that helps. Fish oil also helps with inflammation.

I had the physio this morning. It is Golfers Elbow apparently, not tennis! I have another session next week to help strengthen it but he has suggested an EPI Clasp to start off with. I think I am going to take 2 weeks off the gym completely and see how that goes too. Ten weeks of the odd session here and there has not helped at all. I wish I had just rested previously and not made it worse
