Terribly Depressed

I am so depressed right now. I had a minor rotator cuff injury about 2 months ago. I rested it quite a bit, i lifted some, but i took off a few weeks inbetween. Last week i was on spring break so i didnt lift. I came back yesterday, my shoulder was fine, and i threw the football with my dad and brother. My shoulder felt weird. I cant tell if its a very very small pain or what. Its just ive taken so many weeks off of such a minor injury that i want to get back to lifting tomorrow again (when school starts back up). Im so depressed about such a small thing that i dont want to leave my house. I keep wondering whether i will be able to accomplish my goals. I want to rest my shoulder....but i also want to get back to lifting. Ive felt like ive taken enough rest, but my shoulder still feels weird. I dont know what to do...ive tried to strengthen my shoulder but whenever i do the exercises, my shoulder doesnt feel right. Im so upset...this is my passion. This is my life.

Go and see a physio therapist mate and DONT lift until they tell you that its safe to do so.

Why rush to save a few weeks when it could cost you the rest of your lifting career through injury?

Take it from me, and especially Knighty...REST AND HEAL!!! The weights will be there when you get back. I have a defect in my L5 vertibre that caused it to slip 1/4 of the way forward.

I have been going to therapy for 3 weeks and just last night while backing the car into the garage, turned around to see, heard it pop, and have hardly been able to even move since. I see a white flash if I even try to bend or get out of this chair. Have taken every prescription pain pill in the house and have had ice, heat, and every position imaginable. Have been imobile for 24 hours and trust me...it blows. Cant even get my pants on.

So, back to the point...rest and rehab. At least you can walk.

Hi Brak86, I can understand why you feel upset, it's my life too.

Don't worry, you will achieve all your goals, you are young. As Voivod has already said, go and see a physio and rest for now. It will soon get better and you will be back training in no time. Keep your chin up. Best of luck.

Hello bro, lifes hard at times and you just gotta get thru the shi* somehow and come back fighting even harder than before.
never look at times like this as being so bad, just look at them as being a test,,an hard test,

Times like this get ya down but you gotta dig deep inside and find the spirt to win it over and beat the problems.
When you get back to full power you will be stronger of mind for it,you will have gained.

    best regards, rich
